Greater Houston Republican Liberty Caucus

Greater Houston Republican Liberty Caucus We know that less government means more freedom. We oppose government excess and support adherence to the Constitution. Join us sometime!

We are a chapter of the Republican Liberty Caucus of Texas that strives to promote freedom and responsible governance within the Houston region. The Republican Liberty Caucus of Texas is one of the two original chapters of the only nationwide organization within the Republican Party that promotes "Liberty-Republican" candidates and activates the grassroots on issues important to our organization.

The RLC of Texas was founded in 1991 and has included among its members prominent politicians and leaders in Texas government. Current standard-bearers for the RLC believe that a restrained government results in more liberty.

We proudly stand with the 38, and are grateful to see so many good many Congressmen and one women from the great state of Texas displaying the courage necessary to put principle ahead of giving the President-Elect what he wants. Extending the Debt Limit for another two years is toxic to the mission of putting America First and Draining the Swamp. The incoming Trump administration seeks an easier to environment for passing Tax Cuts without the threat of defaulting on the National Debt. (Now at $36,000,000,000,000) While tax cuts will be do a lot of good for our economy, they must be paired with spending cuts. We need more adults in Congress with the spine necessary to make such tough decisions if this Republic is to survive. So please let these 38 Republicans know you appreciate their courage.

Last night the Houston chapters of Texas Conservative Liberty Forum and the Republican Liberty Caucus of Texas got together as friends at the legendary Warren's Inn in old Market Square in downtown Houston. After guests feasted on pizza and libations, Daniel Blaylock, the TCLF Houston chapter's president, and also a longtime member of RLC Texas, offered some welcoming remarks, with season's greetings to all. Next TCLF Christmas social is in Dallas, on Thursday, December 12. Austin follows on Wednesday, December 18.

Cannabis Taxation and Regulation: What can Texas learn from other jurisdictions.

Paraphrasing here but best line of the session.

“Moderator Susan Hays: Robin what’s your preferred tax rate for cannabis?

Dr Robin Goldstein: zero

Oh come now what’s a realistic figure?

Dr. Robin Goldstein: 6% Tennessee!”

In looking at what other states have tried to see what works to successfully bring cannabis out of the black market, low taxes and reasonable regulations are the gold standard for a market that works in order to avoid all the very real consequences of a black market always which hurts more than it helps. Lots of great information from this segment with panelists Robin Goldstein, PHd from UC Davis, Geoffrey Lawrence from Reason Magazine, Paul Furfaro businessman from Quebec, Canada, and Susan Hays Attorney

Looking back at our first ever attended Texas Cannabis Policy Conference and it was such an eye opening and amazing journey for us to have the privilege being apart of. Everyone there at the conference was incredibly smart and friendly, and the whole experience was revolutionary!

We want to thank so many people who made it possible for us to be there, First and foremost, Heather Fazio from for inviting us to take part in it all, our donors who put up the money so that we could participate as sponsors, our members who came out to support the conference and help us network there, our members who from home helped us put together brochures made special for the conference, and finally all the lovely people who attended that created so much value at the conference. There was a lot of love and liberty in Aggieland last weekend, and the knowledge we took away from it will certainly be helpful as we help to educate fellow Texans about cannabis benefits to society and harms caused from prohibition.
