Yesterday , a couple members of the Ingram Volunteer Fire Department had the honor of representing our department and community as we joined fellow firefighters from across the region in the procession and services for Lt. Isai Huerta from Odessa Fire Rescue

Yesterday was not only a farewell, but a celebration of a life well lived, deeply loved, and faithfully served. Standing alongside brothers and sisters in the fire service, we were reminded that the badge, the uniform, and the oath create a bond that extends far beyond department lines.

As firefighters, we answer the call knowing that service to others is greater than ourselves. Lt. Huerta embodied that calling through his dedication, courage, and commitment to those he served. His legacy will continue to live on in the lives he touched, the firefighters he inspired, and the community he helped protect.

The words from Matthew 25:23 seem especially fitting today:

“Well done, good and faithful servant.”

While our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the opportunity to pay our respects and stand in solidarity with Lt. Huerta’s family, friends, and fire service family during this difficult time.

From all of us at Ingram Volunteer Fire Department, we extend our deepest condolences and prayers. May we honor his memory by continuing to serve with the same dedication, humility, and compassion that he demonstrated throughout his life.

Rest easy, Lt. Isai Huerta. Your watch may be over, but your legacy will never be forgotten.

The Ingram Volunteer Fire Department will be out today selling raffle tickets at Walmart, TJ Moores, and Tractor Supply! Stop by, say hello, and help support your local firefighters while getting entered for a chance to win some great prizes.

Today marks the end of an incredible chapter as Chief Chris McCall concludes his service with the City of Kerrville - Police Department.

On behalf of the Ingram Volunteer Fire Department, we would like to express our sincere gratitude for Chief McCall’s years of dedicated service, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the citizens of Kerrville and the surrounding communities. Throughout his career, he has led with integrity, compassion, and a genuine passion for serving others.

Chief McCall’s impact extends far beyond the badge. He has helped build strong partnerships throughout the community and has always been a supporter of the public safety family. His leadership, guidance, and dedication have left a lasting mark on countless lives and on the organizations fortunate enough to work alongside him.

As he closes this chapter and begins a well-deserved retirement, we hope he takes pride in all that he has accomplished and the legacy he leaves behind. The communities he served are stronger because of his commitment, and the example he set will continue to inspire those who follow in his footsteps.

Thank you, Chief McCall, for your years of service, your leadership, and your dedication to making a difference. We wish you and your family all the best in this next adventure.

It is with heavy hearts that the members of the Ingram Volunteer Fire Department extend our deepest condolences to Deputy Chief Ray Lynch, Assistant Chief Jason Lynch, and their entire family on the passing of their beloved mother and grandmother, Mildred Kendrick.

Mrs. Kendrick was the matriarch of a family that has dedicated countless hours of service to our department and community. While many may not have known her personally, her legacy is reflected through the character, commitment, and compassion demonstrated by her family members who continue to serve others.

During this difficult time, we ask our community to keep the Lynch family in your thoughts and prayers. May they find comfort in the memories they shared, the lives she touched, and the love that surrounds them.

From all of us at Ingram Volunteer Fire Department, we stand beside the Lynch family and offer our sincere sympathy and support.

The members of Ingram Fire Department extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and brothers and sisters of Odessa Fire Rescue following the tragic line-of-duty death of Lieutenant Isai Huerta.

Lt. Huerta dedicated his life to serving and protecting his community, making the ultimate sacrifice while answering the call to help others. His courage, commitment, and selfless service embody the very best of the fire service.

Today, we mourn alongside Odessa Fire Rescue and departments across Texas and the nation. We ask our community to join us in keeping Lt. Huerta’s family, the members of Odessa Fire Rescue, and the injured firefighters in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

The fire service is a family, and when one department hurts, we all hurt. May we never forget Lieutenant Isai Huerta’s sacrifice and dedication to others.

Last night, the Ingram Fire Department responded to a major single-vehicle motor vehicle accident with a reported possible ejection.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured individual, their families, and everyone affected by this incident.

This response required the coordinated efforts of multiple agencies. Firefighters and first responders worked together to provide patient care, establish traffic control, secure the landing zone for air medical transport, maintain scene safety, assist our partner agencies, and ultimately clear the scene while keeping responders and the public safe.

🚨 Public Safety Reminder 🚨

When approaching an emergency scene, please pay close attention to first responders directing traffic. If you see fire apparatus, law enforcement vehicles, emergency lights, traffic cones, or personnel using traffic wands to signal or stop traffic, do not attempt to drive around them.

Slow down, remain alert, and follow all directions being given. These measures are in place to protect you, emergency personnel, patients, and bystanders. Attempting to bypass traffic control creates unnecessary hazards and can put lives at risk.

Today was a truly special day for the Ingram Fire Department.

Our firefighter and K9 Handler, Lauren had the privilege of spending time with an incredible young lady, Kaydin, whose strength, courage, and resilience inspire everyone she meets. Despite facing challenges most could never imagine, she continues to move forward with determination and a positive spirit that leaves a lasting impact.

Joining the visit with our firefighter were another firefighter and a friend and supporter of our department who trains dogs for a variety of important purposes. While each has a different story, they all share something in common with Kaydin—a determination to overcome challenges, a love for helping others, and an inspiring resilience that continues to make a difference in the lives of those around them. Together, they shared encouragement, support, and friendship, making the visit especially meaningful.

Kaydin was presented with an Ingram Fire Department t-shirt and a challenge coin—a symbol of strength, perseverance, honor, and belonging. We can think of no one more deserving. Like the firefighters and first responders who carry challenge coins, Kaydin faces adversity with courage and never gives up.

What Kaydin may not realize is just how many lives she has touched. Her resilience and determination inspire everyone around her and remind us all that true strength comes from how we overcome life’s challenges.

Kaydin, thank you for allowing us to spend time with you today. You have an entire village—and an entire fire department—standing behind you and cheering you on every step of the way.

Never forget: You are strong. You are resilient. You are amazing. And you are never alone.
