This is a major milestone in the restoration of one of the Florida Keys' most treasured landmarks.

SAVE Alligator Lighthouse is now accepting Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) for RFQ-01, the first phase of the Alligator Reef Lighthouse Restoration Project.

This initial phase marks the beginning of the journey to preserve the historic lighthouse that has stood watch over the Florida Reef for more than 150 years. We are seeking experienced, qualified firms to partner with us as we take this exciting first step toward restoring this iconic beacon for future generations.

If your firm has expertise in historic preservation, marine construction, structural restoration, or related disciplines, we encourage you to submit your qualifications.

Progress Update!

Permits for preservation officially moved forward in Fall 2025, with applications submitted to NOAA and ongoing coordination with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Florida DEP to keep everything environmentally responsible.

Mote Marine Lab also completed an incredible 3D seafloor survey around the lighthouse—giving a detailed look at the underwater habitat to help guide safe restoration. Even better? They did it pro bono, showing real commitment to protecting our reefs. 🌊 Thank you !
