August was a busy month for our rainfall collectors in the townships! Most of the townships saw around 5 – 6 inches of rain, however our Milton township collector saw over a foot of rain! The county was above average for the rainfall in the month of August, as historically it is around 3 inches of rain for the month. Average temperatures are beginning to drop as fall is approaching soon. As we hit 2,600 growing degree days (GDDs), we can predict that the corn crop has stopped growing and will begin drying down for harvest.
