We're delighted to present two big author events this month! ✒️

This Saturday, IUS's Dr. Rennie will be here for a fascinating program about early aviators in the first World War. These pilots pioneered flight combat in wood and canvas airplanes only a decade after the Wright brothers.

⏰ His program will be on Saturday at JTPL Clarksville from 12 - 2 p.m.

And next Wednesday, we have two award-winning local poets in the library to talk about the poetry of relationships: from neighbors to family to ancestral connections. They will both read from their newest works and talk about their inspirations and processes.

⏰ Poets Lennie Hay and Pat Owen will be at JTPL Clarksville on Wednesday from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

We're still hiring!

JTPL is accepting applications for a part-time Clerical Assistant at our Clarksville location. This position provides circulation services directly to the public with friendly and helpful customer service!

The position is for 15 hours per week and features competitive pay and a great team to work with.

🚧 Construction has begun! 🚧

As of this week, construction has begun at our Jeffersonville location on the roof and second floor. Construction will be done on a daily basis from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Extensive work is being done to our second floor, which means if will be noisy at times. We encourage noise sensitive patrons to visit the library after 4 p.m. or check out noise-dampening headphones which will soon be available at the circulation desk.

Across both locations and all of our renovations and repairs, our construction partners expect the work to take 11 months. You can find out more on our website, below 👇

The kids are heading back to school, and we're heading into a month of author talks and crafts!

This week we have several big events including a talk about estate planning with a local professional on Tuesday. On Thursday we have a crafty evening too for all ages.

And on Saturday, we're excited to host author Dr. Rennie to talk about early aviation during WWI and his new book. It's sure to be a fascinating talk.
