We've received some incredible new card designs from our patrons this month... but we're still taking submissions!

Youth ages 6-17 are invited to design our new library card during September. You can pick up a submission packet at either JTPL location to get started. We'd love to see your ideas!

We will be choosing two winners to become new library card designs available to all of our patrons.

We'd love to see your art on Spring Street!

Jeffersonville Art is looking for artist proposals for a new window installation on Spring Street. Do some of our patrons have ideas they'd like to share?

CALL FOR ARTISTS: Spring Street Window Series
Jeffersonville Public Art Commission and the Urban Enterprise Zone are seeking artists or artist teams to create original artwork for nine new metal panels along Spring Street in downtown Jeffersonville!

Theme: Windows into Spring Street

Artists will paint/create directly onto provided exterior metal panels, creating an imagined storefront, building, story, or scene inspired by Spring Street’s past, present, or future.

Propose one panel or a coordinated series of up to nine. All experience levels welcome — no previous public art experience required.
Deadline: October 31, 2026

We have two big author events coming up next Saturday! ✒️

On September 26, JTPL Jeffersonville will be visited by Ryan Cole, and JTPL Clarksville will host Lillian Rose.

Cole is a superstar author and scholar who has been published in The New York Times and more. He's giving a talk on Lafayette, arguably America's first superstar, that you can't miss. We're looking forward to learning about him and the Revolutionary Era.

Rose is a local immigration advocate and founder of Hispanic Connection of Southern Indiana. She writes about her story and the stories of dozens of immigrants she has assisted over the last 25 years in her new book: "The Church Lady's Diary."

Don't worry, we're still open for business.

This morning (9/15), please use our Jeffersonville location's side entrance (on Locust St) near the Makerspace.

The front entrance of our Jeffersonville location is closed off to allow construction workers to move large metal beams into the second floor. The work should be finished by this afternoon.

This month's JTPL Story is about Lillian Rose: local immigration advocate, author, and founder of Hispanic Connection of Southern Indiana. We spoke to her about her new book, "The Church Lady's Diary," before she visits us this month in Clarksville!

Lillian's book is about her story and the story of dozens of local immigrants she has assisted throughout her last 25 years of advocacy. You can check out a copy from our catalog or buy one when she visits us on the 26th!
