Operating a public or semi-public pool? Be sure you know the regulations. Review the following pool code. When our inspectors are out, this is exactly what they are looking for, so there will be no surprises!https://www.in.gov/health/eph/files/410_iac_6_2_1.pdf

The most common violations?
- Too high or too low of disinfectant residuals (page 5). This is the number 1 reason for closure!
- Not meeting the required turnover rate (page 7)
- Failure to keep all the required logs (page 10)
- Failure to take all of the required water chemistry tests during the day (page 6). Spas need 3 tests per day for disinfectant and pH! If Joe is off work Monday and Tuesday, that doesn't mean you can skip those days.
- Not having the required safety equipment ready for use ( page 10). (Your first aid kit should not be from 1998.)

You need a passing bacteriological sample prior to opening. Please reach out to the department with any questions! 812-282-7521.

Sometimes you can go about your day for years, feeling completely fine - while high blood pressure quietly strains your heart, damages blood vessels and stresses your kidneys.

The good news: prevention and control are possible.

Early diagnosis, access to affordable high blood pressure medicines and healthy daily habits can greatly lower these risks.
