Teacher are empowering students to define their own expectations!

Mrs. Holden’s 4th grade class at Russell Elementary co-designed classroom norms.

Mrs. Mauritzen, a new 5th grade teacher at Elrod Elementary, was inspired by FHS teacher Mrs. Higgins, to have her class create wants and expectations to shape classroom culture.

Revving up classroom expectations, student leadership, and engagement.

Fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Holden at Russell Elementary, took time during the first days back to school to empower students to co-design shared classroom norms.

Mrs. Mauritzen, new 5th grade teacher at Elrod Elementary was inspired by FHS teacher, Mrs. Higgins, to create a positive classroom culture by having students define their own expectations and norms for the classroom.

Elrod students had the opportunity to participate in a push-in ceremony with the Kalispell Fire Department.

A push-in ceremony happens when a fire department is welcoming a new fire engine into service for the first time. This custom dates back to the 19th century, when fire pumpers were horse-drawn. Fire departments keep this ritual alive to honor past firefighters, show teamwork, and celebrate a new asset entering front-line service.

Thank you Kalispell Fire Department for including our students in such a special tradition!

Meet Stella Bayard, one of our Future Industry Leaders! 🌟

🏫 High School:Glacier High School, Class of 2026
🤝 Internship: Kalispell Chamber of Commerce
💼 Role: Chamber of Commerce Intern
🎯 Goals & Aspirations: I'm interested in business and marketing, and I recently discovered a passion for architecture, a field that lets me combine art and math. I plan to keep exploring both as I head to college.
⭐ Key Achievements & Skills: I built strong networking and communication skills, helped plan Chamber events including the lunch-ins and Growth Summit, and set up the Venture Boldly podcast room. At Glacier I played four years of volleyball in a leadership role and have been part of DECA and the National Honor Society for three years.

🤝 Internship: Kalispell City Government Police Department
💼 Role: Law Enforcement Intern
🎯 Goals & Aspirations: I plan to enlist in the Army to train as a K9 handler, then come back to become a police officer.
⭐ Key Achievements & Skills: I took part in KPD's K9 training and learned how drug-detection dogs are prepared. I rode along on patrol shifts and got a firsthand look at the hiring process and daily life as an officer. I also work two jobs and run my own small business.
