THE LIGHTHOUSE CHRISTIAN HOME HARVEST FESTIVAL IS COMING!

Mark your calendars for September 26th from 11-3 and come join us for an incredible day of fun, laughter, food, fellowship, and community! ❤️

We have been working hard for months to put together an event that truly has something for everyone!

And SO much more!

And then there’s our AMAZING Live & Silent Auction!

So many wonderful people have been working behind the scenes for the past several months, reaching out to businesses and gathering incredible items for our auction. We are going to have LOTS of amazing things to bid on, and there truly will be something for everyone!

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing some of the wonderful items that will be available in our live and silent auctions, so be sure to watch for those posts!

But most importantly, this day is about community and the residents of the Lighthouse. Our residents are incredible individuals with unique personalities, gifts, talents, and dreams. They are an important part of our community, and we are blessed to have the opportunity to provide them with a loving home, meaningful activities, opportunities to grow, and a place where they truly belong.

All proceeds from the Harvest Festival go directly to Lighthouse Christian Home and help support the lives of the individuals we serve.

So bring your family, bring your friends, come hungry, come ready to have fun, and come be part of something special!

Well, we cannot start this week without talking about how wonderful last week’s
Great Fish Community Challenge pop-up donation station was at First Interstate Bank in Kalispell! It was amazing to see so many wonderful nonprofits gathered together, and we made a point to visit each one and spend a few minutes talking with them about their organizations.

It is truly wonderful to hear all the stories and learn about the incredible things these nonprofits are doing throughout our valley and the many lives they are touching. It is such a blessing to be a part of this amazing community of organizations that are working so hard to help others. ❤️

A big shout-out to Wings Cancer Center, Logan Health Foundation, Loon Lake 4-H Camp, and the Alano Club of Kalispell. We are so grateful for the work you are doing in our community! And, of course, a very special thank you to the Whitefish Community Foundation for bringing all of us together and making these wonderful pop-up events possible. Without their support, and commitment to our local nonprofits, opportunities like these simply wouldn’t happen. We are truly grateful to be part of something that brings so many amazing organizations together to share their stories, and make a difference across the valley.

WOW… OUR COMMUNITY IS SHOWING UP! 3RD PLACE!!

I honestly don’t even have the words to describe how amazed I am watching our community rally around Lighthouse during the Great Fish Community Challenge!

Our donors are stepping up. Our friends are sharing. Businesses and community partners are getting behind us. And one by one, you are helping catapult Lighthouse up the leaderboard!

WE ARE CURRENTLY IN 3RD PLACE OUT OF 89 NONPROFITS!

Think about that… 3rd place out of 89 incredible nonprofits. All doing amazing work in our community! We are absolutely blown away by your generosity and support.

But we’re not ready to stop yet!
Let’s see if we can CLIMB even higher!

We have some pretty competitive nonprofits in the running! And they will be climbing the leaderboard in the next few days!

We have an opportunity to make this our BEST GREAT FISH COMMUNITY CHALLENGE EVER, and we need YOU to help us keep the momentum going!

Every donation matters.

Every conversation matters.
Every person who tells someone else about Lighthouse matters.

Yesterday we were out in Lakeside at Glacier Bank for another Great Fish Community Challenge pop-up, and once again, you could feel the excitement in the air!

It was so much fun seeing so many incredible nonprofits come together, including, Loon Lake 4-H Camp, Wings Regional Cancer Support, West Shore Food Bank, and so many others. There is something really special about being surrounded by organizations that are all working in different ways to make our community stronger.

One of my favorite parts of these Great Fish Community Challenge events is the opportunity to visit with other nonprofits, share what we’re doing, exchange phone numbers, and talk about ways we can collaborate in the future. We may each have a different mission, but we all have the same desire, to make a difference in the lives of the people and families we serve.

That is one of the things I love most about the Great Fish Community Challenge. The Whitefish Community Foundation has created so much more than a fundraising opportunity. They have created a space where nonprofits can come together, get to know one another, build relationships, learn about each other’s missions, and discover ways we can work together.

For Lighthouse Christian Home, it has also given us an opportunity to introduce our ministry to people who may not have known who we were or what we do. Every conversation, every connection, and every new relationship helps us tell the story of Lighthouse and the incredible people we are blessed to serve.

There is truly something special about watching our community rally around so many wonderful nonprofits. We are stronger together!

And we’re not done yet!

Sometimes, the best way to understand what The Lighthouse means is to hear directly from the families whose lives have been touched by it.

Meet Hannah and Kaitlin
Just four months ago, Hannah and Kaitlin became part of the Lighthouse family. Their families hoped to find a place where their daughters would be safe, loved, cared for, and truly have a place to call home.

They found The Lighthouse, and in just four short months, they are already seeing their daughters blossom in ways they never expected.

Kaitlin’s mother recently shared that her sister, who was visiting from Japan, was amazed by the change she saw:
“My sister recently visited from Japan and could not get over how much Kaitlin has blossomed since moving to The Lighthouse, stating that the change was so positively dramatic.”

She went on to share words that beautifully capture what The Lighthouse means to their family:
“All these years, I could only hope for a place where Kait is safe and cared for, and The Lighthouse is that and so much more than I could have ever dared to hope for or imagine, so much so that there is even space for her to grow.”

That is what your support makes possible.

The Lighthouse is a safe place, a place to build friendships, a place to discover purpose, and a place to try something new and realize:
“I can do this.”

It is a place where families can breathe a little easier because they know their loved one isn't simply being cared for, they are living life.

Sometimes growth looks like trying an activity for the first time. Sometimes it means making a new friend, coming out of your shell, discovering joy, or finding confidence in something that once seemed out of reach.

These moments may look small to someone else.

But to a family who has spent years wondering what their loved one's future would look like, they are everything!

Hannah and Kaitlin are just beginning their Lighthouse journey, and already their families can see the difference.

Last week’s Great Fish Community Challenge pop-up in Bigfork was such a special event!

There were so many incredible nonprofits there, and you could truly feel the energy throughout the entire event. It was such a fun and uplifting atmosphere. With people, laughing, connecting, and sharing the excitement of what we all get to do in our community. There was just something really special about everyone coming together and cheering for all the nonprofits here in the Flathead Valley.

It was especially fun seeing so many of the Bigfork nonprofits together. Collaborating with them this year has been such an incredible experience, and I truly believe that by joining together, we are reaching even more people and making an even greater impact in our community.

For us at Lighthouse Christian Home, this is about more than fundraising, it’s about creating opportunities, meaningful experiences, and a place where the adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities we serve can truly belong, and live life to the fullest. ❤️

Our Lighthouse residents will be out there tomorrow! Come meet the wonderful people who call Lighthouse home, people who have so much joy, love, and laughter, to share. We’d love for you to get to know them and see firsthand the incredible individuals behind our mission. ❤️

A huge thank you to the Whitefish Community Foundation and KGEZ Radio for having Lighthouse Christian Home on the radio this morning as part of the Great Fish Community Challenge! It was so much fun getting to share about the Lighthouse, and even more fun to share the spot with Evan Harris of Harris Financial, one of our amazing supporters and a valued member of the Lighthouse Board of Directors! A huge shout-out to Evan for always showing up for Lighthouse and being such a strong advocate for our residents and our mission! 🙌❤️

It was also wonderful to see so many of the other amazing nonprofits out there who are participating in the Great Fish Community Challenge and to have the opportunity to visit and connect with several of them while we waited for our turn. What a fun and exciting time this is for our community!

And we have to give a HUGE shout-out to the Goguens for their incredible $50,000 gift to the Great Fish Grant Fund! What an extraordinary gift to our community and to the many non profits that will benefit from this. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who continues to show up, give, volunteer, encourage, and support these incredible nonprofits. We truly are stronger together!

We are so grateful to be part of the Great Fish Community Challenge and to be surrounded by such an amazing community.

The first Great Fish Community Challenge pop-up is officially under our belts! 🎉

What a wonderful time the Lighthouse team had out at the pop-up at Whitefish Credit Union in Columbia Falls on Tuesday! We loved being there, connecting with our community, and sharing a little more about what makes Lighthouse Christian Home so special. ❤️

And a special thank you to Darlene, our wonderful Board President, for showing up and always being willing to jump in and support Lighthouse, our staff, and most importantly, our residents! We are so grateful to have you in our corner! ❤️

Now, we’re ready for the next one! Join us tomorrow at Harvest Foods in Bigfork! We’ll all be there and would love to see you!

Last night was AMAZING!

What an incredible turnout for the Great Fish Community Challenge! We were so excited to see so many people stop by the Lighthouse Christian Home booth, to connect with us, have some fun, and learn more about the incredible work happening at the Lighthouse!

Our booth was full of energy, from our farm selfie station, to our Wall of Belonging, where community members shared their beautiful artwork and heartfelt words about what makes them feel loved, valued, and like they truly belong. ❤️

The Wall of Belonging will soon have a permanent home at Lighthouse, filled with all of those wonderful creations and messages, a beautiful reminder of what our community can build together.

A HUGE thank you to the Whitefish Community Foundation for putting together such an amazing evening and for all of the hard work that goes into making the Great Fish Community Challenge possible. We are so grateful!

And thank you to all of the incredible nonprofits who showed up with such enthusiasm and energy. It was inspiring to see so many organizations come together to celebrate the work being done throughout our community.

Most of all, thank you to our amazing community for showing up and making the night so special!
