Many Metro Atlanta municipalities have adopted mandatory ordinances, which require owners and oper

ators of multi-family communities to self-certify that the properties meet minimum property maintenance and housing codes. I have over 10 years’ experience in the Fire Marshal’s Office working with local governments and performing these inspections. There are a multitude of home inspectors in the Atlanta area, but a qualified company must meet the certification standards of the jurisdiction to become an approved vendor. After a property is inspected, a certificate of compliance is issued and must be presented by the owner in order to acquire a business license. Inclement winter weather often causes delays in the inspection schedule. Fireplace Cleaning and Inspections:

National and Local Fire Code requires that all Fireplaces be cleaned and inspected annually. We use the most efficient methods available to assure that chimney’s and flu’s are thoroughly cleaned and safe. Dryer Vent Cleaning and Inspections:

Dirty and obstructed Dryer Vents pose a serious fire hazard as well as potential problems with condensation in confined spaces that could result in black mold. We use a high pressure air cleaning system that in most cases allows for cleaning from the exterior of the buildings and does not disturb the tenants or disrupt the maintenance staff with time consuming “key Pulls”. As a retired Fire Marshal I understand exactly what and how the inspection reports should read and what they should include. Copies of all reports will be forwarded to the AHJ and I act as a liaison to answer any questions and resolve any issues that may arise. WE ARE ALSO CERTIFIED TO PREFORM FIRE WATCH
