Students at Hemingway Elementary School, Hemingway High School and Hemingway MB LEE Middle School are continuing to grow, explore, and achieve through our engaging summer programs.

From academic enrichment and skill-building activities to collaborative projects and hands-on learning experiences, our students are making the most of their summer while preparing for a successful school year ahead.

Last night, Dr. Lamont Moore,Superintendent of WCSD attended the Ministerial Alliance meeting at St. Paul AME Church in Cades. During the meeting, he shared his background in education and school leadership, as well as his experience in ministry and church leadership. He also asked the group to join him in prayer for the district and discussed the importance of increasing faith-based presence and visibility within local schools.

The meeting included meaningful dialogue regarding the district budget, declining enrollment, district overstaffing, and the importance of building capacity among teachers and administrators. Dr. Moore also shared the district’s 2026–2027 theme, “Moving Forward Together.”

The evening provided an opportunity to strengthen partnerships with local faith leaders and foster collaboration in support of students, staff, and the community.

We are excited to announce that Williamsburg County School District has been awarded a total of $10,000 Sharing Success Grant! Through this generous matching grant, the impact of Santee Electric Cooperative's contribution has been doubled, providing additional support for programs and opportunities that benefit our students and schools.

We are grateful to Santee Electric Cooperative and the Sharing Success Grant Program for investing in education and helping us continue to create meaningful learning experiences for our students. These funds will be used to upgrade and purchase medial equipment such as Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).

Williamsburg County School District welcomed parents, community members, district leaders, and school administrators to a Community Meeting held on June 8, 2026, in the Dr. Rose Wilder Multipurpose Room.

The meeting provided an opportunity for stakeholders to engage in meaningful dialogue regarding proposed Student Handbook Revisions and other important community concerns impacting our schools. Attendees shared valuable feedback, asked questions, and participated in productive discussions aimed at strengthening the educational experience for all students.

District and school administrators, along with members of the District CIA Team, listened to community input and emphasized the importance of collaboration between schools, families, and the community.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed their voices. Your engagement helps Williamsburg County School District continue moving forward together in support of student success.

SAT/ACT Summer Bootcamp 2026 is Here!
Williamsburg County School District's GEAR UP Program, in partnership with GEAR UP South Carolina and Cambridge Educational Services, is excited to offer the SAT/ACT Summer Bootcamp 2026!
This four-day intensive program is designed to help students strengthen their test-taking skills, boost confidence, and prepare for success on college entrance exams.
