In 1925, Mt. Helix Park, was built in honor of a mother, for the families of the community to enjoy.

A private, nonprofit, nature preserve located at 1400ft with an easy hiking trail, native habitat, large amphitheater, 35 ft cross, & breathtaking views.

Here is a throwback Thursday for you! 📸

This incredible vintage postcard takes us back nearly 100 years! 🕰️

If you look closely, you can spot Mt. Helix Park on the mountain in the background to the right!

I suspect the road running through the center of the photo is Bancroft Drive, which would place this view somewhere near where the 94 and 125 freeways intersect today.

My best estimate dates this photograph to sometime between 1927 and 1929!

The postcard reads:

“A winter view from our front door! There is a 35 ft cross on the mountain, lighted Sunday nights. On the far side is an amphitheater seating 5000 where Easter Sunrise services are held. Mt Helix”
