Congressman Jamie Raskin is serving his 5th term representing Maryland’s 8th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He was chosen by the Democratic Caucus to be the Ranking Member of the House Committee on the Judiciary.

Before his election to Congress, Representative Raskin served three terms in the Maryland State Senate, from 2007 to 2026, where he served as Majority Whip. He was a constitutional law professor at American University Washington College of Law for more than 25 years. He has authored several books, including the Washington Post bestseller Overruling Democracy: The Supreme Court vs. The American People.
