‼️ Leadership Requires More Than Silence ‼️

Dear Lancaster,

I’ve been in prayer about how to respond to the video from our recent City Council meeting. (I was in the chamber that day. I didn’t hear the derogatory statement when it was spoken — I learned of it later, when the video clip came out.)

In the recording, a person can be heard directing a very specific racial slur at Councilman Cedric White.

Let us call it what it is: That particular word carries a long, painful history of dehumanizing Black people. My not hearing it in the moment doesn’t make it any less serious now that it’s in the light.

As a Black and Brown resident, a Pastor, a community and business leader, and someone who has twice asked this city to consider entrusting me with local leadership — I cannot know this and stay silent.

Leadership is not a title. It is stewardship. It takes courage to speak, wisdom to stay measured, and discipline to tell the truth.

I believe in strong advocacy. Our city is stronger when residents show up and demand accountability. But advocacy does not require dishonor, and activism is not a license for racial abuse. We can hold leaders accountable without denying the dignity of another human being.

Order is not censorship. Accountability is not oppression. Condemning racism is not an attack on free speech.

I’m calling on our city leadership to respond with clarity and courage: condemn this abuse, continue to stand publicly with Councilman White, and set a clear, lawful, viewpoint-neutral protocol for real disruptions.

👉 My final thoughts: Freedom of speech is not freedom from moral accountability. What we normalize in our civic spaces matters.

🏛️ The work continues.

Last night at the LA County CFCI Board Meeting, I was reminded again that meaningful leadership is built long before the spotlight ever finds it. It happens in the rooms where policy, funding, accountability, and community impact are being discussed—and I intend to keep showing up in those rooms.

I’m listening. I’m learning. I’m building. And I’m staying close to the work that directly impacts our Lancaster communities. 🤝🏽

And if you’ve been following this journey, do me a favor: don’t keep this page to yourself. 📲 Invite 3 people who care about Lancaster, leadership, community, and what comes next to follow this page today.

There is a WHOLE lot ahead—and I don’t want you, your family, or your neighbors to miss what’s coming. 👀✨

Stay close. Bring somebody with you. The next chapter is already being built. 🧱💪

🚀 The work doesn’t stop.

As a matter of fact, some of the most meaningful work we can do for our community starts our community. 💯

To create lasting change at home, we have to build regional partnerships, strengthen relationships, and connect Lancaster to opportunities, resources, and innovation that extend beyond city limits. 🤝✨

That’s how communities grow. That’s how doors open. And that’s how we bring more back home for the people we serve.

💪 Let’s get it. 💛

🙏🏽💛 So grateful for the continued support and unity of the faith-based community across the Antelope Valley.

I truly believe one of our greatest responsibilities is to lift up the next generation in prayer—covering our youth with wisdom, protection, purpose, and hope. 🙌🏽

When faith and community come together, amazing things happen. Let’s continue believing for the very best for our region and the young people who will shape its future. ✨

✨ Enjoyed attending tonight’s City of Lancaster, CA – Government Budget Open House.

I truly appreciated witnessing our City’s leadership continue to open up conversations around budgeting, Measure LC, and YM funding.

Residents deserve to understand where resources are going, ask questions, and help shape priorities for our community. Grateful to see that door continuing to open. 💯

Transparency matters—and little by little, may transparency become the new norm in Lancaster. 🤝💛

🚒✨ Had a great time this morning supporting the Fire Service Days Open House at Fire Station 129 alongside our incredible firefighters and community members.

Events like this are such a powerful reminder of the importance of connection between residents and those who serve and protect our neighborhoods every single day. From live demonstrations to fire safety education, it was wonderful seeing families, children, and neighbors engaging directly with our local fire department. 🤝💛

Proud to continue supporting our Los Angeles County Fire Department and the brave men and women of Los Angeles County Firefighters, IAFF Local 1014 who show up for Lancaster in moments big and small.

Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your unwavering commitment to our community. 🚒

So honored to celebrate First Lady Vicki Kemp and the beautiful community she has built and stewarded so well through her Book Club and her powerful book, “Early Will I Seek Thee”. 💐📚✨

It was such a blessing to visit the Bakersfield College Launchpad and participate firsthand. The women in Bakersfield (and across the nation) are truly being strengthened and encouraged through this work.

One thing that is deeply important to me is always making time for connection within faith-based communities, and this was such a beautiful reminder of the power of intentional sisterhood, wisdom, and fellowship. 💕

If you have not yet grabbed a copy of “Early Will I Seek Thee”, it is available now on Amazon. ✨
