🚨LAPEER COUNTY🚨

We are sharing a little sneak peek of our October newsletter with you: "The Creepy Crawlies Edit," prepared by our public health educator! In this edition of our CD Newsletter, we're covering these topics:
🐜Tick Bite and Lyme Disease Prevention
💈Getting Rid of Head Lice
🦇Rabies Prevention
😷Measles in Michigan

When our newsletter is officially published, there will be a couple of changes:
🖱The QR codes will be clickable buttons in the PDF we post on our website. Our health educator brought these to an outreach event over the weekend and swapped the buttons for QR codes for accessibility.

📊There will be an additional page, "CD Numbers," as we're waiting for the Michigan Disease Surveillance System to release the next quarter's numbers.

We hope this is a fun, festive, and interesting read!

Community outreach events are a blast with our health educator. Engaging all ages in health education and literacy is her specialty!

Check out the relay race she set up at the Dryden Elementary Wellness Fair! This relay is part of her “Habits for Heart Health” billboard campaign, launching in Imlay City in mid-October!

Play for fun! Play for your health!

If you live in Huron, Lapeer, Sanilac, or Tuscola County, please take HDC’s 2026 Community Needs Assessment survey by October 1!

From affordable housing and child care to making ends meet, your experiences help us understand local needs and shape HDC’s future priorities.

You don’t have to receive HDC services to participate. We value your perspective and want to hear what matters to you!

Please share this post to help more of our neighbors be heard. 💙
