Laredo Auto Theft Task Force The exclusive objective of the Laredo Police Auto Theft Task Force is to deter, investigate and prosecute vehicle theft and burglary of vehicles.

The Laredo Auto Theft Task Force (ATTF) provides additional resources to enhance the capacity of all police agencies in Webb County in order to impact the crime of auto theft. The Task Force includes all jurisdictions in Webb County regardless of whether an agency is participating in the Task Force or not. The exclusive objective of the Laredo ATTF is to deter, investigate and prosecute the vehicl

e and theft and burglary of vehicles. The Laredo ATTF has established a proactive centralized auto theft investigation team that engages in a multi-disciplinary approach utilizing local, state and federal investigators. The team identifies local trends and patterns of vehicle theft through collective crime analysis. The team provides public education concerning burglary of a vehicle, motor vehicle theft and insurance fraud, and implement needed prevention and deterrence programs such as "Never unlocked. Nothing in view." We focus on increasing the number of arrests of vehicle theft suspects by particularly targeting the professional thieves and groups of individuals participating or involved in exporting stolen vehicles into Mexico.

We’re proud to share that the Laredo Police Department Auto Theft Task Force has been recognized on a statewide level, earning 3rd Place in the Public Service Announcement (PSA) Education Category at the Texas Association of Municipal Officers (TAMIO) Annual Conference in Austin for our “End the Fright!” vehicle theft prevention video🎃👻✨

Congratulations to everyone involved for this outstanding achievement and for proudly representing the City of Laredo and the Laredo Police Department across Texas. Your creativity, dedication, and commitment to educating our community continue to make a difference.

The Laredo Police Department’s Auto Theft Task Force is seeking the community's help in identifying & locating this unidentified male subject. This individual was involved in a Theft of Motor Vehicle case that occurred at the 10302 Comet Dr. on August 8, 2025.

If you have any information regarding the identity or location of this subject, please call Laredo Crime Stoppers at (956) 727-TIPS.
