Las Vegas Democratic Socialists of America The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is the largest socialist organization in the United States. We believe that no one’s material needs should go unmet.

The Las Vegas chapter fights for greater democracy, freedom and equality for all people in our community and country. As a group of leftist organizers and civil actors, we recognize that corporations, the finance industry and private interests stripped working people’s political power. The greed and unchecked power of the elite sent economic inequality soaring to historic heights, threatening the very stability of our nation. We reject the violence of the status quo and the oppression the masses. We are socialists, feminists and anti-racists who share a positive vision for a better, fairer world. To dismantle inequity and restructure our political-economy, we hope to empower everyday people like you to fight for change through campaigns and educational initiatives. General body meetings are the engine of our chapter's democracy. Every month we meet to hear updates from our campaigns, deliberate and vote on member-proposed resolutions, and take part in in the discussions that shape our organizing.

Doors open at 12:30pm and the meeting calls to order promptly at 1pm. This meeting is hybrid! You can join us in person or over Zoom.

But Americans know this political system isn't representing their needs. The Senate is a fundamentally undemocratic institution that serves to suppress popular demands. DSA's national program includes Free Palestine as one of planks. We believe in recognizing the rights of the Palestinian people, including the right of return, the right to resist military occupation, and the right to self determination in a free Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital. We need to end all military and economic aid to Israel, and prosecute U.S. and Israeli leaders responsible for the genocide in Gaza.

LVDSA is an explicitly anti-Zionist chapter. Opposing Zionism means opposing the displacement, occupation and oppression of Palestinians and supporting their right to freedom and self-determination. We reject the idea that criticism of Zionism, the Israeli government, occupation, or the treatment of Palestinians is inherently antisemitic and condemn those who attempt to conflate the two. We oppose Zionism AND antisemitism, Islamophobia and anti-Palestinian racism.
