Swatara Water Trail The Swatara Water Trail is a total of 60 miles beginning in Pine Grove, Schuylkill County, flowing th Canoes and kayaks can plan trips for a few hours, or days.

The Swatara Water Trail is a total of 60 miles beginning in Pine Grove, Schuylkill County, flowing through Lebanon County, and ends at the Susquehanna River in Dauphin County between Middletown and Royalton. Public access points are identified every seven miles along the Trail. Three campgrounds, Jonestown KOA, Swatara Watershed Park, and Hershey Highmeadow Campground, allow for overnight camping

along the Swatara Water Trail. Among other scenic, historic and geologic formations along the Trail, within Swatara State Park, paddlers can see the Bordner Cabin, Appalachian Trail and Bridge, and Union Canal Locks.

On Saturday, May 2nd, a valiant group of paddlers braved the cool temperatures to join us for the 2026 Swatara Sojourn. Beginning at Swatara Creek Park and ending at Fulling Mill Rd, the paddle and trash clean-up up covered 10 creek miles.

Correction: The Data Center Developer will visit Lebanon County commissioners this Wednesday, April 15 at our workshop, which begins at 1:30pm, 400 S 8th Street, Lebanon Pa. 17042. It’s an odd time for working people, but the public is welcome to attend.

Since I’ve been a commissioner, workshops have been held at 1:30pm. We experimented with night meetings, but attendance did not increase, and we had to pay staff overtime.
