DISTRACTED DRIVING REMINDER

We’ve received several complaints about distracted driving lately. Just a friendly reminder that using your cell phone while driving can be against Ohio law, and you can be ticketed.

School Bus Safety Reminder

With school starting next week, here is a friendly reminder about school bus safety!

STOP when a school bus has its red lights flashing and stop arm extended.

Never pass a stopped school bus from either direction when children are loading or unloading.

Watch for children walking, biking, or crossing near bus stops.

Slow down in school zones and residential areas.
Stay focused and avoid distractions while driving.

Let’s all do our part to keep our children safe as they head back to school!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Touch-a-Truck event on Saturday! It was a great success. A special thank you to The Fun Company for putting on such a wonderful event, and to our participating agencies, volunteers, and community members who helped make the day possible. We loved seeing so many smiling faces and look forward to seeing you at future community events!

Leipsic Police Department was contacted by Marek Bookman Kasper. Marek is a student from Europe, Estonia, studying International Business in university and is working his way through college. He wanted to let the community know that he would be in town and countryside doing door to door sales helping families with education. Marek has acquired all his proper licenses to go door to door. He asks that if you are simply not interested in his products just let him know; he will bid you a good day and move on. Included is a photo of Marek. The car he is driving has New York license plate and displays Southwestern Advantage logos.
