๐Ÿš‘โค๏ธ Thank You, Decatur County!

Decatur County Emergency Management would like to thank everyone who came out for our FREE Hands-Only CPR and Stop the Bleed training in Decatur.

We appreciate everyone who took time out of their evening to learn lifesaving skills that can make a real difference during an emergency. Training like this helps build a stronger, safer, and more prepared Decatur County.

A special thank you to EMA Coordinator Jessica Bear, Deputy EMA Coordinator Shaun Kloster, and Paramedic Mark Pearce for helping provide this training and share these important lifesaving skills with our community.

There will be multiple opportunities to attend this training throughout Decatur County, with additional dates and locations coming soon. We encourage everyone to take advantage of these free trainings when they are available.

๐Ÿšจ Weather Update for Decatur County & Southern Iowa ๐Ÿšจ

The National Weather Service is expecting a final round of severe storms and heavy rainfall late this afternoon into tonight.

โ›ˆ๏ธ Main concerns:
โ€ข Damaging winds
โ€ข Large hail
โ€ข A few tornadoes possible

โฐ Timing:
Storms may begin developing in southwest Iowa late this afternoon, with the greatest severe weather potential between 5 PM and 10 PM.
