Every behavior needs generalized and tested!!

Here, Bruno demonstrates a down-stay in the middle of a toy aisle while ignoring squeaky toys and other temptations around him.

Exercises like this help build impulse control, focus, and the ability to remain calm when excitement is all around. These skills become especially important for dogs preparing for public access and service work.

Bruno recently completed our Service Prep Program and has since made the journey home to Hong Kong. We’re proud of the progress he’s made and excited to watch him continue to grow with his family.

About a month ago, we hand delivered Smokey to Florida after completing both our Puppy Steps Program and Service Prep Program. ✈️🐾

Last week, we received these pictures from his family and they absolutely made our day.

One of the most rewarding parts of training isn’t just what happens while puppies are with us—it’s seeing families continue the work and build success once their puppy gets home.

Seeing Smokey’s family already putting his training into practice in a busy airport environment is exactly what we hope for. New places, distractions, excitement… and Smokey is continuing to do a fantastic job.

This is why we focus so heavily on building strong foundations, clear communication, and practical skills that transfer into everyday life. Training isn’t about creating a dog that performs for us as trainers—it’s about giving families the tools to succeed long after they go home.

Great job Smokey —we’re proud of you and can’t wait to see all the adventures ahead. 🌴🐶

Teaching a solid STAY builds real-life self-control 🐾

➡️ Start with very short stays
➡️ Reward while your puppy is still holding position
➡️ Step away only one step at a time
➡️ Always return to your puppy before releasing
➡️ Use a clear release word (“okay” or “break”)
➡️ Slowly add distance, time, and distractions
