iSchool Virtual Academy serves students in grades 3-12 who may have experienced challenges in other academic settings, but who also have a focused desire to take ownership of their learning. Our most successful students are those who can benefit from a flexible program of state-aligned courses that individualizes their learning experience by first identifying their existing knowledge and skills and then focusing on strengthening areas they have not yet mastered. iSchool Virtual Academy serves students who are self-motivated. They will be taught by highly qualified professional educators who are masters in their content area and trained to teach in an online environment. The classroom-learning environment utilizes an online curriculum that targets individual learner’s needs. The curriculum is aligned to Texas academic content standards and is designed to cover the full content in each core subject by the end of each academic year. This occurs through a targeted approach to instruction informed by data and existing student knowledge. iSchool Virtual Academy’s educational model is designed to encourage learning habits that keep the student’s mind inquiring and engaged.
