PUBLIC SAFETY NOTICE - Spray Foam Hazard

In the past few months, the Limestone Fire Department has responded to two structure fires within our district.

After investigation, both fires were determined to have the same cause: the improper use / installation of spray foam insulation.

Spray foam is highly combustible during application and can create a serious fire hazard if not installed according to manufacturer specifications, if exposed to heat sources, or if used too thick in one application.

Please remember:
1. Always follow manufacturer instructions
2. Use only trained / certified installers
3. Keep all heat sources, electrical work, and hot work away during and after installation
4. Ensure proper ventilation and curing time
