Great afternoon at the Gladstone Area Chamber of Commerce - Gladstone, Missouri Luncheon today! ๐ŸŽ‰

A big thank you to NYX Spirits - Lounge for hosting and to Marx Family Dental for their sponsorship โ€” and to everyone who came out for a wonderful turnout.

We took a moment to celebrate Amy Harlin, Chamber President, on her 25th anniversary with the Chamber. A milestone that speaks for itself. Congratulations, Amy!

The Truman Library Institute joined us for a timely and engaging presentation in honor of America's 250th birthday. If you haven't been recently, the Truman Library has special exhibits this summer worth checking out. Area Mid-Continent Public Library branches have free passes available.

Mayor Pro Tem Spencer Davis also shared updates on Gladstone's Freedom Fest 4th of July celebration. Sponsorships are still available โ€” link below for more info.

It was great to be in the room alongside Mayor Jean Moore, Mayor Pro Tem Spencer Davis, and Councilman Les Smith. Grateful for the strong connections that make our community tick. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Freedom Fest brings explosive fireworks, epic live music, massive energy, and a crowd united by celebrationโ€”built to be loud, proud, and unforgettable.

What a great evening to kick off parks season! ๐ŸŒฟ

Last night I had the pleasure of attending the Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Advisory Board meeting โ€” held for the first time in the brand new AJ Barn. A few highlights:

๐Ÿ—๏ธ Flora Park update: Phase 1 construction begins June 1st, and we're still on track for a late summer/early fall opening. Phase 2 RFP is currently under review. Exciting things are coming to this space!

๐ŸŽ‰ AJ Barn: The website is live at ajbarnevents.com โ€” check it out! The first event is a multi-chamber after hours this August. More details coming soon.

โ˜€๏ธ Summer programming: If you haven't already, check your mailbox for the Spring 2026 Gladstone Magazine, which includes the full list of summer camps and recreation opportunities offered by the Parks Department. You can also visit the Parks Department website or stop by the community center for more info.

A huge shoutout to Parks & Facilities Superintendent Charlie Miles and his team for all the hard work getting our parks ready for the season โ€” they are an incredible asset to this community.

We wrapped up the evening with a tour of the beautiful new AJ Barn. Gladstone has a lot to look forward to this summer! ๐ŸŒป
