Shepherd's Gate Shepherd's Gate is a Christian long-term residential program for women and children to find healing and hope.

Since 1984, Shepherd's Gate has provided Christ-centered services and shelter for over 13,000 battered and homeless women and children. Shepherd's Gate operates campuses in Livermore and Brentwood, CA.

Art, motor skills, creativity, and colors are just a small part of our daytime activities in our on-site Children's Program. For toddlers and pre-elementary school kids, our program is similar to a preschool program, working towards typical developmental goals. This also allows us to identify if children are developmentally delayed and to seek resources to best support them. Additionally, we provide contracted therapy as needed as a part of our holistic approach.

Our Brentwood Residential Assistant, Wanda (pictured on the far right), and her church small group blessed everyone at our Brentwood campus. They brought the women in our program beautiful gift bags filled with skincare, makeup, hair accessories, and so many fun things the ladies loved. And they did not forget our staff, giving them a huge basket full of snacks and treats, which was so thoughtful.

In a special moment, one of the women prayed over our new resident and the whole house. We are so grateful for people who love and support our Shepherd’s Gate family so well!

We are so grateful for our volunteers who help make our work possible. Did you know that we have over 500 volunteers involved in Shepherd's Gate each year? From one day work teams on our campuses to weekly teachers and devoted drivers to returning event volunteers (like this NCL team at our Tea), every person is a part of the impact. We truly can't say enough about them!

Our Brentwood residents were blessed by the kindness of a new friend connected to Shepherd’s Gate, Iryna. The Lord placed Shepherd’s Gate on her heart because of her past experiences, and she wanted to give back in a meaningful way.

She lovingly put together beautiful gift boxes for each resident that included a scroll reminding them of who they are in Christ, an “I’m Good Enough” ring, a faith bracelet, two books she personally wrote, and of course, some chocolate because sometimes ministry and chocolate just belong together.

We are so thankful for people like Iryna who allow God to use their story to bring hope, encouragement, and love to others. These moments remind our women that they are deeply loved by the Lord.
