Please make note of this important schedule due to the long holiday weekend! Enjoy!
Very important update to make notice of!
We heard a few of you were interested in learning what time things are going down this weekend. ⏰👀
Well, here you go! 😉
So much more to come...😏
Today we recognize work anniversary milestones of the following individuals for the month of August:
23 YEARS!!!
John Trottier—Director of Engineering and Environmental Services
14 YEARS!!!
Brian Bubelnyk—Equipment Operator
4 YEARS!!!
Denise Manella—Department Assistant
3 YEARS!!!
Dave Wholley—Director of Public Works & Municipal Facilities
We thank all of them for their continued hard work and service to the community of Londonderry!
Please take notice.
Bill Payson worked his last day today with the Londonderry Public Works Department after more than 28 years of dedicated service. Bill began his career on July 1,1996 (see photo below) and worked every winter through last which has a total accumulation of 1,799” or 149.91’ of SNOW!!! (See last day photo below) We had a nice gathering today at lunch catered by Bills favorite; Hong Kong Taste, surrounded by the entire department, former coworkers and some retirees. He was truly a pleasure to work with. He will be missed and we wish him all the best with his future endeavors. CONGRATULATIONS BILL!!!!
A special THANK YOU to Finnegan Fence Company for donating over $1500 in fencing and materials to help get a long term project completed at the Pillsbury Cemetery!! Looks great!!
We recently completed a nice little upgrade of the pull off parking area in front of the Valley Cemetery on Pillsbury Road. It was looking a little shoddy and needed some TLC. The gate to the main entrance had its latch broken sometime ago so we fixed that as well. Straightened up dozens of old historic stones and trimmed up a lot of the trees and vegetation. These are all “nice to do list” items that are being taken care of with Cemeteries being under the management of the DPW since 2021. Ordinarily tasks like these would’ve been contracted out or not completed at all. But, we have found a way to squeeze in this important work to our busy daily work load. We hope you enjoy the before and after photos below of this spruce up of one of our historic cemeteries. 😄
Please give our crews and the contractors the room they need to complete the work. We completely understand kids wanting to watch heavy equipment work and happy for their interests. Just please do so from a safe distance. 😄

It may be a beautiful 60 degree Autumn day. But we know what’s inevitably coming our way. So we’re mixing up our sand with some salt and filling up our small shed in preparation of the upcoming winter. Want to more about all that goes into our Winter Weather Emergency Operations plan? Check out last nights Town Council meeting where our Director of Public Works Dave Wholley did a presentation on our approach, challenges and explanation of things to come! 😀
Our crews have been busy on many special projects improving all kinds things to make Londonderry be the best it can be. So when the group of volunteers asked us to re-coat some of the pathways in the Town Forrest we gladly rose to the occasion. See additional videos and pics in the comments below. 😀 #pwmakesithappen #wehelpwherewecan
