Getting the word out early on this important work. Planned at night time to avoid as much interruption in everyone’s busy daily lives.

This hydrant relocation is an important first step to fixing this intersection into a safer more conventional 3 way stop.

Please plan ahead and share for all to know.

In a wrap up of National Public Works Week we had several employees attend the Annual Mountain of Demonstrations show yesterday and special thanks for our very own Max Dolliver and Adam Pushee for representing our department in the Plow Rally.

Today was a very busy day for us all with final preparations of making everything around town look extra special for the long holiday weekend. And we finally got around to putting the finishing touches on our sign out front with a couple of shrubs, mulch and solar lights.

We thank you all for tuning in all week and as always appreciate all your support for the men and women who work tirelessly for our community all year round!

Enjoy the unofficial beginning of Summer and please remember those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice for us all to enjoy our freedom and great nation!

Perhaps it’s fitting that our newest employee started his career with us on Monday during National Public Works Week.

Please welcome Don Boyer as our newest truck driver/laborer! Don is no stranger to our operation in the winter time as he has served us well for the last five winters as a driver in a contracted truck. So he’s assimilating into our yellow trucks very well! 😃

Also celebrating their 21st year with our department this month is Donna Limoli! She is a fantastic Department Administrator that makes everything go as well as clock work should!

Congratulations to both of them on their continued excellence with our department!

At last nights Town Council Meeting a Proclamation in honor of National Public Works Week was read into the record.

On Day 2 of our special week we held an appreciation lunch for all of staff, part time employees, and winter plow contractors.

Special thanks to one of our employees who runs a side business and brought in his inflatable fun games. Coupled with a co****le game or two, today was a great team bonding and general morale building afternoon and was a welcomed break from the early excessive heat. Although we’re not complaining about the weather after the winter we’ve had. 😃

Today was our first work day of National Public Works Week. And it’s been a while since we’ve brought you an update.

Here’s just a glimpse of work that’s been going on over the last few weeks.

Whether it’s been prep work for the new Town Hall parking lot, a collapsed culvert on Wilson Road, busting up boulders to make way for the new basketball courts, removing the skate park, removing the old waste oil shed, or stock piling winter sand for next season (it’ll be here before we know it). Our fabulous employees get it all done.

More to come as the week moves on!
