We hosted a Water and Wastewater Specialized Training class at our office in Lonoke October 27-29, 2026, with a great lineup of guest speakers for both sides!

Water Training was led by ARWA Training Specialist and Federal Program Compliance Officer Jim Philipp, with guest speakers Tristan Luke with Clow Valve, Lucian Goodman with Metron, Josh Evans with Ferguson, and Eric Zimmer with Maguire Iron.

Wastewater Training was led by USDA Wastewater Trainer and Technician Ches Jackson and EPA Wastewater Quality Action Specialist Jamie Moore, with guest speaker Karl Cartmell with Haynes Equipment.

A big thank you to all of our instructors and guest speakers for their great work this week!

As Cybersecurity Awareness Month kicks off today, the National Rural Water Association (NRWA) is encouraging small and rural water utilities to apply to receive free cybersecurity services through its most recent cybersecurity initiative, the Water Watch Center (WWC), a dedicated cybersecurity solution for monitoring threats for small and rural utilities.

: Last week, NRWA launched the NRWA Employer Incentivization Program, which supports workforce development in rural communities through structured apprenticeship training in water and wastewater systems operations.

The program, supported by the U.S. Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration, provides up to $20,000 in incentive payments to newly engaged employers participating in an NRWA-approved, federally registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP).
