Sessions at 10 am-noon on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of most months September through June.

Come to the Los Altos Library to work on your current family history research project in the company of other genealogy hobbyists. Bring whatever you need for your work (e.g. computer, reference materials, notebook). While this is not an instructional session, you can get peer support for questions as well as access to the library's genealogy collection, including Ancestry and other databases.

On August 19 5:30–7 p.m., Los Altos History Museum hosts “Junipero Serra and 1776: The West and East Coasts,” a program exploring two pivotal events that occurred just one day apart in 1776—the presentation of a draft of the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia and the founding of Mission Dolores in Spanish California —and how these parallel histories shaped the future of North America. The program ties to the Museum's current exhibition, The Spirit of '76: Reflecting on America's Bicentennial, on view through November 8.

Advance registration is required at losaltoshistory.org/JuniperoSerra1776.

Admission is $15; free for Museum members.
