LA Taxpayers were PROMISED a "NO COST" Olympics. Guess what⁉️

-The City has ALREADY SPENT $14 MILLION 🫠

-City Council just voted 8-3, to spend an ADDITIONAL $13 MILLION on NEW LAPD vehicles 🚔

-The budget for the Olympics THIS FISCAL YEAR ranges from $50-$120 MILLION 🤯

City Hall MUST do more to protect our LA Animal Services employees, volunteers, partners, and the animals. For years, this department has been underfunded and understaffed and even worse, these past few years' of budget cuts have eliminated nearly 20% of their staff positions. This city department, like others, has been set up to fail.

We received a fraud, waste, and abuse tip about an affordable housing real estate developer renting out their affordable units to their friends and employees from another related entity.

Affordable housing is in dire need in and the City should ensure everyone has a fair shot of getting into these units.b

Restrooms, water fountains, and other hygiene facilities can be hard to come by in , which is why we made an easy-to-use map:

NEW: mobile showers 🚿

This can be a life-saving resource for many in LA, so please share and spread the word! Remember, if you think LA needs more bathrooms and hygiene facilities, it's the Mayor and City Council who make funding decisions!

🚨 TRIGGER WARNING: LAPD beat handcuffed inmate who later died

The video of the beating was difficult to watch and was released over the weekend.

What does accountability look like for the LAPD that receives $3.6 BILLION of your tax dollars?

Increased police budgets year after year, the department spending over budget, and massive liability payouts with no real change or accountability.

Our Office advocated for Charter Reform around police accountability a few months ago, unfortunately only a few Councilmembers supported it.

This was our LARGEST fraud case.

Imagine if City Hall gave the Controller's more than FIVE fraud, waste, and abuse investigators for the SECOND largest City in the country?

This is just ONE out of the nearly 800 fraud, waste, and abuse claims we get each year. Imagine what else we would find and how much more taxpayer dollars we could protect if City Hall took fraud, waste, and abuse seriously.
