Meet Tampa A2260203

Tampa is a 1.5-year-old spayed female weighing 58 lbs. Tampa recently spent some time in a foster home over the 4th of July, where we learned a lot about her! She’s a special girl who is friendly, gentle, social with other dogs, and the biggest couch potato!

Both pets are available for adoption or fostering at our East Valley Animal Services Center.

Furry friends adopted from LA Animal Services join their new families already spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adopters also receive a Petco flyer with discounts to help make their pet adoption a success, and a VCA Healthy Start Certificate, which provides up to $250 of follow up veterinary care within the first 14 days of adoption. In addition, dogs are eligible for free dog training classes with Paws for Life K9 Rescue at their People & Pet Innovation Center in Mission Hills, CA. To see the amazing animals available to adopt or foster, go to LAAnimalServices.com/pets.

The six LA Animal Services Centers are open Tuesday through Friday from 8am to 5pm and Saturday and Sunday, from 11am to 5pm. Centers are closed Mondays and City-observed holidays. For more information about LA Animal Services, visit: laanimalservices.com.

Before I had the honor of serving as your councilwoman, my roots were in community organizing. That experience taught me that true neighborhood safety is not built from the top down — it is built side by side. It is grounded in trust, relationships and a genuine understanding of the people who share our streets.

National Night Out is more than just an event. It is an intentional opportunity to bridge gaps, break down barriers and foster honest dialogue between residents, local leaders and first responders —over food and music — we’ll strengthen our ability to protect and uplift one another.

Don’t miss the opportunity to help make our neighborhoods safer. Please join me on Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 5 to 8 p.m. at one of the following locations:

8610 Van Nuys Blvd.
Panorama City, CA 91402

📍Sun Valley Recreation Center

I had the absolute joy of helping our friends at Creative Kids Learning Academy take an exciting trip out to Knott’s Berry Farm! They do incredible work providing top-tier care and enrichment for so many of our local LAUSD students when class is out.

Providing a Bus was part of our ongoing effort to support our community and ensure these bright, dedicated students got to enjoy a well-earned day of adventure. 🚌❤️

When we invest in our youth and support our working families, our entire district shines.

Clear signs mean safer streets!

During a routine field inspection on Roscoe Blvd, our team noticed tree branches completely hiding a 35 MPH speed limit sign. If drivers can’t see the limit, neighborhood safety takes a hit!

We worked with the Urban Forestry Division to quickly trim back the overgrown branches and restore the sign’s visibility.

The sign is officially back in plain sight, keeping our streets safe for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians alike.

Spot an obstructed sign or overgrown tree in your neighborhood? Report it through 311! 📲

It was such a pleasure to help support this incredible bus adventure for the Cherry Blossom Garden Club and Friends!

They spent a wonderful day exploring our local history and culture at Mission San Gabriel Archangel.

Seeing our community come together for educational trips like this is truly what it’s all about. Thank you for the lovely signs and for letting me be a part of your trip!

Cruising through a classic Saturday at Sheldon Arleta Park with the Oldies Car Club Sun Valley!

Car shows like this bring families, local vendors, community organizations, and car enthusiasts together to celebrate the San Fernando Valley’s rich car culture. It is an art form rooted in creativity, craftsmanship, and community pride.

With major improvements coming to Sheldon Arleta Park, including a new baseball field, children’s play area, and picnic spaces, I am so excited to continue activating this crucial community space.

Thank you to the organizers, volunteers, performers, sponsors, and everyone who made the day special!
