Housing instability remains a pressing issue for veterans and families in Los Angeles. This week, we highlight crucial resources available through the VA, HUD-VASH, and SSVF programs designed to assist veterans facing homelessness or housing insecurity. With a 26% decrease in veteran homelessness reported in the 2026 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count, it's vital to continue outreach and support efforts. Organizations like the LA County Department of Military & Veterans Affairs and various community partners stand ready to assist. Together, we can create pathways to stable housing for our veterans.

This week’s LAVC Weekly Pulse highlights Veteran-Owned Brands to Support—Southern California businesses founded by veterans that continue serving beyond the uniform.

These companies are not only building strong products and services; they are also creating employment opportunities, supporting veteran transition, donating to community programs, assisting military families, and advancing initiatives for service dogs and retired military and first-responder K9s.

Supporting a veteran-owned business can be more than a purchase. It can help strengthen a network of veterans who continue to lead, employ, mentor, and give back within their communities.

Read this week’s Weekly Pulse to discover local brands making a measurable impact—and consider supporting them through your purchases, referrals, partnerships, and professional networks.

You do not have to be a military retiree to receive VA benefits. You do not have to have served in combat to qualify for every program. You do not have to be recently separated. You do not have to already have a disability rating to ask about health care, mental health resources, counseling, education, employment support, housing assistance, or burial eligibility.

You do need to ask the right questions, you just need to provide accurate information and use qualified assistance. https://conta.cc/4vHxbKE
