of our own Bobcats! 💙🐾

Miles, one of our VPK students, has had an incredible journey from the beginning. Miles was born at just 26 weeks. From his very first days, he has shown incredible strength, courage, and determination. Despite overcoming so many obstacles, he now faces some of his biggest challenges yet: right-sided cerebral palsy, strabismus, and epilepsy.

Recently, Miles' seizures have become more frequent and severe, causing damage to his brain and impacting his quality of life. His medical team has recommended a life-changing procedure called a hemispherotomy. This major surgery will disconnect the left side of his brain in hopes of stopping the seizures.

This is a frightening and overwhelming step for Miles and his family, but it is also a step filled with hope. Their hope is that this surgery will give Miles the opportunity to live a more functional life and allow him to grow stronger.

The journey ahead will not be easy. Recovery will require months of intensive healing, therapy, and support. Through it all, he will need the love, encouragement, and prayers of his community.

Miles has already proven that he is a fighter. Now, as he prepares for the biggest battle of his life, we ask you to stand beside him and his family. Every prayer, kind word, and act of support will help carry them through the challenging days ahead and remind them they are not walking this road alone.

It's so cool to live in Champa Bay, and at McKitrick, we are CHAMPS! Join us for a week of school spirit and Tampa Bay team pride.

📅 Spirit Week Dress-Up Days ⚾ Tuesday: Rays Up! Wear Rays gear or blue. 🐾 Wednesday: McKitrick Pride Day. Wear your grade-level shirt or McKitrick spirit wear. 🏒 Thursday: Lightning Bolts! Wear Lightning gear or blue/black. 🏈 Friday: Raise the Flags! Wear Buccaneers gear or red/pewter.

Monday is a student holiday.
