EMS Week 2026 is an opportunity to recognize the dedicated Emergency Medical Services professionals who answer the call every hour of every day to serve our community.

Whether responding to medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, critical illnesses, or providing compassionate care during someone’s worst day, EMS providers stand ready with professionalism, skill, and commitment.

We would also like to thank the residents of our community for the continued support you show our EMS personnel. Your encouragement, trust, and appreciation mean more than words can express.

This week, we proudly recognize the EMTs, Paramedic’s and all those who work together to provide emergency care when it matters most.

Today we recognize and congratulate our three graduates of the Northern Maine Community College paramedic program!
This program is no easy accomplishment. It requires countless hours of classroom instruction, clinical rotations, studying, and hands-on training — all while continuing to work full time for our department.
We are incredibly proud of the hard work, dedication, and perseverance each of these graduates has shown throughout this journey. Their commitment to advancing their skills and providing high-quality care speaks volumes about the kind of providers they are and the future of EMS in our communities.
Thank you for your dedication to our department and to the communities we proudly serve. Congratulations on this outstanding achievement — we look forward to seeing all that you accomplish as paramedics!

Public Service Announcement

The Madawaska Safety Complex would like to inform the public that, effective 05/05/2026, the use of our driveway for vehicle turnarounds is no longer permitted. This includes the entire driveway from the corner of 6th avenue near the Police Department up to the far end of the Fire Department driveway.

This decision has been made in the interest of public safety. There have been several recent near-collisions involving civilian vehicles and emergency apparatus entering and exiting the facility. Ensuring clear and unobstructed access is critical for our ability to respond quickly and safely to emergencies.

Additionally, frequent use of the driveway for turning around has led to increased wear and tear on the pavement, resulting in higher maintenance costs.

We kindly ask all motorists to avoid using the Safety Complex driveway for turnaround purposes and to seek alternative locations when needed.

We appreciate your understanding, attention, and cooperation in helping us maintain a safe environment for both the public and our emergency personnel.

Thank You
Respectfully,
Your Madawaska Public Safety Chiefs

Happy International Women’s Day from Madawaska Ambulance Service

Today we recognize and celebrate the incredible women who are part of our service. The women in EMS bring a unique strength to this profession — mentally, physically, and emotionally. In a job that requires resilience, compassion, quick thinking, and determination, they consistently rise to the challenge.

Beyond the uniform, these women are also juggling full lives of their own. They are mothers, partners, students, caregivers, and leaders in their homes and communities. Many are balancing family life, managing households, pursuing full-time education, and still showing up for their shifts ready to serve others with professionalism and heart.

Their ability to carry these responsibilities with grace while continuing to answer the call speaks volumes about their dedication and strength.

To the women of Madawaska Ambulance Service — thank you for the commitment, compassion, and resilience you bring to this job every day.

I am incredibly proud to work alongside each and every one of you. 💙🚑 -701

Happy Valentine’s Day from all of us at Madawaska Ambulance Service ❤️

Today, we want to recognize a very special group of people — the spouses and families who stand behind our public safety professionals every single day.

Thank you for being the other side of public safety.
Thank you for being the safe place our crews return to after long shifts and hard calls.
Thank you for the missed meals, the interrupted holidays, the late-night call-ins, the page-outs, and everything in between.

Your sacrifice, patience, and unwavering support do not go unnoticed. While our team answers the calls, you answer the quiet ones — holding down homes, comforting children, and loving our providers through the unpredictable.

We couldn’t do this work without you.

Happy Valentine’s Day to the hearts behind the heroes. 💛🚑
