Madison County Property Appraiser Our office is located South of the Madison County Courthouse in the Courthouse Annex on the Second Floor, Room 201

The Property Appraiser of Madison County is charged with placing a fair and equitable market value on every parcel of property both real estate and tangible in our county. Other responsibilities of the Property Appraiser include the administration of exemptions (homestead, widows, widowers, blind, disability and total exemptions), maintenance of property ownership records, and maintaining aerial photographs of the county. More information is available concerning exemptions at other sites within this web site. We gladly enjoy the opportunity to serve the Citizens of Madison County.

2026 TAX ROLLS OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED!

The Madison County Property Appraiser's Office is pleased to announce that Property Appraiser Marie R. Smith has officially signed and certified the 2026 Real Property and Tangible Personal Property Tax Rolls!

This marks another important step in completing the 2026 tax year. Behind the scenes, our office has spent countless hours reviewing property records, verifying assessments, processing changes, and working to ensure that Madison County's tax rolls are accurate & equitable.

With the rolls now certified, they will be delivered to the Madison County Tax Collector's Office for the preparation and mailing of the 2026 property tax bills.

We would like to thank our entire staff for their hard work throughout the year. Preparing the tax rolls is truly a team effort, and every member of our office plays an important part in getting us to this point.

Most importantly, we would like to recognize Chief Deputy Property Appraiser Kenya Alexander for her dedication, leadership, and the important role she plays in helping oversee our office's daily operations and the tax roll process.

We are proud to serve Madison County and remain committed to providing fair, accurate, and professional service to the citizens we represent.
