This grant-funded program is free and includes stipends for trainees! You can receive a certificate from UNH, complete the Certified Recovery Support Worker course, and an apprenticeship certificate from the US Department of Labor if you complete this program! WHAT IS Building Futures Together?
Grant funded workforce development training program FREE for individuals currently working or interested in working as a paraprofessional in the behavioral health field, specifically with children impacted by SUD/OUD. A paraprofessional can be a peer support specialist, community health worker, youth worker, recovery coach, family support worker, among others.
WHO CAN ENROLL?
High school diploma or equivalent required (those with Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees are not eligible)
Must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Currently working (or planning to work) with individuals between 0-24 years old affected by substance use
Lived experience in behavioral health or recovery is strongly encouraged
Open to individuals who have not previously participated in Building Futures Together and are not currently enrolled.
WHEN DOES IT START?
May 11, 2026 (online, asynchronous)
HOW LONG IS IT?
Level I includes three (3) courses, each 8 weeks, totaling 6 months.
Level II includes 2,000 hours of on-the-job training with employer (one year of full-time work 30-40hrs/wk)
*Please note: You cannot begin Level II until successfully completion of Level I.
WHAT DO YOU GET?
Up to $13,500 in stipends (no strings attached!)
CRSW Course Certificate of Completion (first step to become certified as a CRSW in NH and NHTI college credit)
Up to FOUR UNH Digital Badges
Level I and Level II Certificate of Completion
We will be accepting ~20 trainees for this cohort, and applications will remain open until April 11th, or until all spots are filled.
Preference is given based on eligibility and the date applications are received.
Participants in this program can receive up to $13,500 in stipends to support their career growth!
