This ordinance requires law enforcement to contact the owners of abandoned animals if known and make public notification of abandoned animals which is done on our animal control page. If after 5 days the owner does not claim the animal, Mandan Police will attempt to turn the animal over to an adoption facility if possible or humanely euthanize the animal.
