Dunn County's Finest

Dunn County Sheriff's Office has come a long way ways since the days of a Sheriff and two Deputies. Since the "Oil Boom" in our region resulted in an increase in population and calls for law enforcement service, the Dunn County Sheriff's Office has grown to its present day authorized strength of 20 sworn personnel including the Sheriff. That may seem like a lot for our area,

but our County has seen a need for an increase in law enforcement services. That is larger than the state of Delaware. In addition, Dunn County has over 150 miles of state highway and over 1,280 miles of county roads that fall within our patrol jurisdiction. The Dunn County Sheriff's Office is the premiere law enforcement agency for Dunn County. The Sheriff is currently Gary Kuhn and he is joined by Chief Deputy Timothy Sul. The patrol division operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in all weather conditions and holidays. There are 4 patrol shifts made up of a Corporal and two Deputies. The shifts are 12 hours in length from 6 to 6. There is also an Administrative Sergeant. There are specialized positions including 2 Truck Regulatory Deputies, a School Resource Deputy, 2 K-9 Deputies, a Civil Service Deputy, and 2 Detectives, one of which is assigned to the Southwest Narcotics Task Force. Several of our Deputies carry on additional duties such as SWAT, Crisis Negations, Instructors, Armorers, and Drone Pilots to name a few. We also have 2 civilians who serve as our Administrative Staff and carry out duties such as records, 24/7, billing, evidence, and a host of other administrative functions. They play an important role in the day-to-day success of our Office. We utilize State Radio as our primary dispatching and 9-1-1 service. It is our goal to provide the best law enforcement services to our community with the utmost of professionalism, ethical values, and compassion to all. We are proud to serve and protect Dunn County.
