Our Mission is to empower children and their families to enhance the quality of their lives through education, support, advocacy & opportunity.

The FLC provides:

Access to a collection of quality, age appropriate, learning tools for students and their families (books, computers, CD players, etc)
Homework help to elementary and middle school students
Daily snack after school
Parenting programs
Self-esteem programs
Teen and adult economic growth programs
Self-Improvement educational opportunity programs
Our History
The FLC opened its doors

in 2002. The FLC was originally funded by an RI Education Reading Grant. After the grant expired, the Lincoln School Department and the Town of Lincoln began funding the program. As of July 2010, the Center became funded solely by the Town of Lincoln and fundraising efforts. We now have over 11,000 books on our shelves, and more than 1000 families as members. Become a Member Today! Stop by the Center, fill out a short form, and become a member of our community. You do not have to be a Lincoln resident to become a member.

We had a wonderful summer full of
story-times, cooking, crafts, and a math matters program! Today we start our back to school hours which are Monday through Thursday, 12 PM through 5:30 PM and Fridays 9 AM to 2 PM . As of today we will have school supplies available starting at 3 PM and going to 5 PM. School supplies will be available for the rest of the week. We wish everyone a wonderful school year and remember the FLC is always here for you and you after school homework help needs! We will have tutors available starting September 8th.Please call us at 401-762-4900 with any questions.

What a wonderful morning we had here at the Family Literacy Center!! The kindergarten classes from the GREAT Northern Lincoln Elementary School came here on a field trip!! We had an interactive story, sang songs, enjoyed snacks and made a bookmark! The students and teachers brought sunshine on a rainy day!!! ☀️📚🦋🐝🐞
