Mapleton Schools

Mapleton Schools Our school is located in the town of Mapleton, Oregon, serving approximately 175 students. Because of this, we have an extended school day: 8:10am-3:43pm.

As you take a closer look into our clean, well-kept campus, you will find good things come in small packages. We offer an average class size of 12 from our caring and close-knit staff who knows each and every student. We have a solid curriculum with high expectations along with enriching electives such as art, computer technology, yearbook, oceanography, physics, chemistry, and principles of techn

ology (electric cars). Our spirited student body actively supports the competitive athletic programs and is always ready for action. Every student has a chance to participate as there is something here for everyone. Like many schools in our county, Mapleton High School operates on a four-day school week. On most weeks, school operates Monday-Thursday. In order to meet seat time requirements, however, we sometimes have school on Fridays on weeks with Monday holidays.

Mapleton Jr/Sr. High Afterschool Club will be launching Career Exploration Wednesdays, and we’re looking for local community members willing to host small groups of students where you work!

We’ll be bringing 4–10 students to visit local workplaces for about 30–60 minutes (depending on travel time) between 4:00–5:30 PM on Wednesdays.

Students would love to:
• Hear about your career path and what your day-to-day work looks like
• See your workspace (if possible)
• Try or observe something hands-on related to your job (if possible)

We’re open to all types of career paths—including trades, small businesses, public service, agriculture, creative work, and non-traditional routes. If you have a job and a story to share, students can learn from you.

We’ll keep it simple:
• School staff will be present the entire time
• We’ll work around your schedule and comfort
• A "what to expect" document will be provided beforehand

Even a short visit or Q&A can make a big impact for our students—especially here in a rural community.

If you—or someone you know—might be interested, comment below or reach out to Courtney Stone at [email protected] or 541-268-4322 ext. 241.

Thank you for helping connect our students to real-world opportunities!
