These lucky Summer Reading participants were the winners of our Grand Prize in their age groups. Rose Roy, Read to Me division; Landon Hutchinson, K-3rd division; and Maddie Martinez, 4-6 grade division. Each child successfully completed their Reading challenge of reading 20 books of various topics which were outlined on their challenge cards, to be eligible for the drawing of the Grand Prize. County Judge, Jim Meador, was kind enough to draw the names out of three different hats to declare the winners!

Thank you to each child who participated in our Summer Reading program this June. The Reading challenge continued through July 31. Several participants completed the challenge and I couldn't be prouder of each one of them. We had a great turnout for Summer Reading and lots and lots of fun!

Congratulations to these three winners!

I'm a little late getting the photos posted of our last two weeks of Summer Reading. We enjoyed Bubble Painting and created some beautiful pieces of art work! It was so much fun! Every week was filled with color and fun! Our last week we enjoyed an Ice Cream party. We had several flavors of ice cream and all the toppings you could want. Each kid got to create their own ice cream sundae. After ice cream they enjoyed playing games. It was so much fun and delicious!
We had a great turnout and great participation in our Reading Challenge. Those who completed the challenge and submitted their cards before July 31 are now entered in the drawing for one of the grand prizes. Winners will be announced this week!

Our sweet Library cat, Smokey, is in the hospital. He's a sick kitty. He has an obstruction in his bladder and has been in a lot of pain. The Vet said that it could have turned deadly very quickly. I am asking for your help. Everyone loves Smokey and he has visitors everyday who come to the Library just to visit him. The kids especially adore Smokey and he adores them! He is a very special part of our Library!

If you are so led we would greatly appreciate donations for his Vet care. Pictured is an estimate of the charges. If you would like to make a donation to his care you may call the Spur Vet office directly at 806-271-3355. Every amount will help! If you have questions, please call me at 806-347-2717 or 806-269-3746. Thank you!
