Power Savers Alert!!
Due to high temperatures, we encourage municipal electric customers to VOLUNTARILY reduce electric use today, Thursday, August 6, 2026. Power Saver Hours each day are from 4 to 7p.m. Customers can lower their electric use during these hours to save money both now and later. Participation lowers electric use throughout the community, in return lowering customers’ monthly electric costs and utility energy costs over time. The more people who participate, the bigger the impact.

Customers can help by taking simple steps such as:
• Delay using major appliances like the washer/dryer, dishwasher, and oven/stove during an alert.

Due to high temperatures, we encourage municipal electric customers to VOLUNTARILY reduce electric use today, Thursday, July 16, 2026. Power Saver Hours each day are from 3 to 7 p.m. Customers can lower their electric use during these hours to save money both now and later. The local emergency sirens will be tested tonight at 7:20 p.m.

DEMA, DSP, and PSEG will test the Salem/Hope Creek Nuclear Station alert system on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at 7:20 p.m. Sirens will be activated for 3-5 minutes, followed by a test message of the Emergency Alert System on local radio.

We are still monitoring the weather in hopes of getting fireworks off tonight. No definitive time has been determined, but if there is a weather window close to dark, the plan is to still launch tonight.
