Back-to-School Night was a great success! After meeting their teachers and choosing a backpack, families enjoyed lemonade and hot dogs, snow-cones, face-painting, balloon animals, and crafts. Families could also pick out some school clothes and get a haircut just in time to start the year out right. A big thank you to Risen Life Church for providing all of the festivities, clothing, and volunteers, as well as to Costco, Cheesecake Factory, United Way, and Kids in Need Foundation for providing school supplies and backpacks for all of our students. And, of course, we cannot thank Steve Rodriguez and Edwin Alfaro enough for always coming through with the coolest haircuts for our kids. We are so grateful to our community!

Congratulations to our very own Midvale Elementary School librarians, Mrs. Harris and Mrs. Brown! We are so very proud of you and all of your hard work! We can't wait for school to start again so they can use their knowledge to help our students grow their love of literacy, of our library, and of learning!

Aloha to the newest members of the Canyons School District ʻohana! Yesterday, nearly 100 new teachers were welcomed with a little island spirit after a day of learning at New Teacher Orientation. From meeting community partners and local vendors to grabbing a backpack full of goodies (mahalo, Cyprus Credit Union), decorating new Canyons Stanleys with school stickers, and connecting with colleagues over a lunch of Hawaiian barbeque, it was the perfect way to kick off an exciting year. Midvale Elementary's newest Kindergarten teacher, Tiffany Bourgeios, is featured in the video - Go Mustangs!

A big thanks goes out to Zions Bank for choosing Midvale Elementary, along with other local schools, for their annual Paint-a-Thon project. At Midvale Elementary, Zions Bank employees and their families brightened up the gym, making the space more warm and inviting for students. They also repainted playground lines, washed lost and found clothing, and had a wonderful sign made for our new Family Resource Center. We can't thank them enough for their investment in our school community!

Imagine being fluent in more than one language at such an early age! Knowing multiple languages can enhance memory, multitasking, and problem-solving skills, leading to higher academic achievement, and can open up career opportunities. We celebrated these Midvale Mustangs for their English proficiency. We love our diverse and multilingual community!

While the biggest prize of all for great attendance is the learning and growth that happens for students, these students also earned other amazing prizes for making sure they were in school, on time, every day. A new scooter? Yes, please!
