We have some exciting things happening at the library!☀️
First, our Sunshine Shelf is officially outside and stocked! We have had so many people ask how they can help, and we are incredibly thankful for the generosity of our community. It has been wonderful to see so many people eager to support their neighbors.
At this time, we are accepting donations of small nonperishable food items, cleaning supplies, and personal hygiene products. Every donation is appreciated and helps keep the shelf stocked for those who may need it.
Most importantly, we want everyone to know that the Sunshine Shelf is available to anyone who needs it. Whether you live in Milbridge or are just passing through, the shelf is here for you. There are no requirements, no sign-ups, and no questions asked. If you need something, please take it. If you’d like to give, we welcome donations. Our hope is that the Sunshine Shelf can be a simple way for neighbors to help neighbors.💛☀️
We are also getting ready for a fun summer at the library! Our new water table is set up and ready for splashing, and our sandbox will be fully assembled tomorrow. We can’t wait to see families enjoying our outdoor spaces throughout the season.
And that’s not all! We have some fantastic Summer Reading plans in the works! Sign-ups begin June 22nd, and we are excited to share more details about this year’s program, Dive Into Reading: Life and Stories of the Maine Coast. Keep an eye on our page because there are lots of fun things on the horizon. 🌊
