Yesterday Hazel led a full day of teacher training at UMM to educators from all across Washington County about how to take learning outside, thanks to the Washington County Education Consortium. 🍎 We're already booking out for in-service days and conferences next year so reach out to schedule some fun outdoor education training!

We are quickly wrapping up the school year with some final field trips to conclude program series, such as this 3rd grade field trip in the moss at Ice Pond Preserve and this 6th grade field trip along the shores of the Union River. 🌞

If you are getting ready for summer like we are, check out our website to find out how you can keep coming outside to learn with us after the school year ends! We still have openings for summer school programming and guided adventures.

Thanks to and for making these programs possible.

Did you know that over 177,000 birds migrated into Hancock County just last night? Ovenbirds always arrive on teacher appreciation week and they make themselves known! 🐦 Remember to turn off outside lights (always, but especially) this time of year so you don't confuse the many birds on their long journey here to breed.

Teachers have a hard job and we are so grateful for all the teachers that partner with us to take their students outside to learn and grow! Don't forget to appreciate your local teachers on Tuesday!

Today is all about celebrating trees and the ecosystem services they provide! 🌲 These Hancock 8th graders were working together to identify individual trees using only their sense of touch last week (no looking!)

If you know a young person who loves making friends and playing games outside, check out our Events page for info on our free summer day camps.
