It was truly amazing to watch these departments come together to learn, teach, and build relationships founded on the understanding that we all rely on one another when it matters most.

It has been a complete honor to be a part of this training, to share the knowledge and experience I’ve gained over the years, and to learn from so many talented firefighters along the way. Seeing everyone work together, ask questions, and strengthen our mutual aid partnerships is exactly what the fire service is all about.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this training a success. I look forward to continuing to train together, learn together, and serve our communities as one team.

Today continues to be a busy day for Minot Fire-Rescue crews as they answered the call to support our neighboring communities.

Earlier today, our members assisted at a large woods fire in Otisfield, working alongside numerous agencies to help bring the incident under control. Following that assignment, Minot crews were requested to relocate to Auburn’s Central Station to provide additional fire protection coverage while regional resources remained committed elsewhere.

This evening, our crews continue to stand by in the City of Auburn as firefighters from across the area battle a large structure fire in Lewiston.

Days like today are a reminder of the strength of the mutual aid system and the dedication of firefighters throughout our region. We are proud to answer the call whenever our neighbors need assistance and wish all crews operating on today’s incidents a safe return home.

Before the heat arrives, now is a great time to prepare. 🌞

With hot temperatures expected over the next few days, remember to:

* 💧 Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
* 🏠 Limit outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day.
* 👒 Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing and sunscreen.
* 🚗 Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle.
* 👵 Check in on elderly neighbors, family members, and anyone who may need assistance.
* 🐾 Make sure pets have plenty of fresh water and shade.

Heat-related illnesses can develop quickly, so take the forecast seriously and plan ahead. Stay safe, stay cool, and look out for one another! 🚒☀️

An extreme heat watch is in effect for much of the state and temperatures are expected to peak on Thursday. Severe storms may also cause isolated power outages, so be prepared with a backup plan if you have a cooling system which fails. Check your local forecast for details.

Today, Minot Fire-Rescue Department concluded a two-part water supply training program that was initiated and coordinated by one of our own members.

With the assistance of our mutual aid partners from Hebron Fire Department and Mechanic Falls Fire Department, along with several dedicated students, we were able to review and demonstrate hands-on water supply operations. Training topics included fill site operations, dump site operations, portable water tanks, and overall water shuttle capabilities.

Although the weather was not on our side today, everyone pushed through the elements and remained focused on making this training a success. The dedication, teamwork, and professionalism displayed throughout both sessions helped strengthen our operational readiness and provided valuable experience for all involved.

Thank you to our mutual aid partners and to all of our members for their commitment and hard work throughout this training program. We appreciate everyone who contributed to making this a successful learning experience.

As temperatures fluctuate and storms come and go, fire danger can change quickly and constantly. Many of us are taking advantage of good weather to clean up our yards and burn debris, but it’s important that we all keep safety top of mind.

One increasingly common concern during these rapidly changing conditions is something called a holdover fire: a fire that appears extinguished but continues to smolder unnoticed before reigniting later.

I wanted to share a few facts to help keep our community informed and safe. Please use caution, follow local burning guidelines, and remember: a fire isn’t always out just because the flames are gone.

It’s not often we get to share action shots like these, but it’s even rarer to see so many towns come together in Greene. Our crew worked tirelessly alongside brothers and sisters from departments all over to accomplish what was done today. Proud of everyone involved and grateful for the teamwork, dedication, and professionalism shown from start to finish. Great work by all involved!

A special thank you to all the members of the Minot Fire-Rescue Department, as well as our mutual aid partners from Auburn, Hebron, Mechanic Falls, Poland, and the Maine Forest Service.

The quick response, professionalism, and teamwork demonstrated by all agencies helped bring today’s woods fire incident on Center Minot Hill Road under control.

Great work by everyone involved, and thank you for your continued dedication to protecting our communities.

Today, our hearts are with everyone affected by the tragic incident in Searsmont, Maine. What began as a routine emergency response quickly turned into a devastating event that has impacted firefighters, EMS personnel, workers, families, and the entire community.

On behalf of the Minot Fire Rescue Department, we extend our deepest thoughts, prayers, and unwavering support to all those injured, their families, and the departments and agencies working tirelessly through this difficult situation.

Please keep everyone involved in your thoughts, and thank those continuing to work on the scene and caring for the injured.
