City Manager Tom Joyce will be a panelist at the next International City/County Manager Association conference. Some of his ideas are outlined in the ICMA Member Spotlight this month:

For Joyce, the session is another opportunity to “pay it forward” and help local government leaders recognize the value veterans can bring to their organizations. “Military veterans offer some common traits and values—such as selfless service, duty, responsibility and trust—but also functional skills that can transition well into local government operations.”

The signal work at 13th Street SE and Highway 2-52 is complete, and the intersection is back to normal operation.

The new left-turn signals are now in place and will operate with a green arrow followed by a flashing yellow arrow.

A big thank you to the North Dakota Highway Patrol for assisting with traffic control and helping motorists safely navigate the busy intersection while the work was underway.

Thank you to everyone who slowed down and used extra caution during the work.

UPDATE: Water service was restored at 1:15 p.m.

Crews are responding to a water break at the 1900 blk of 3rd St NW. There appears to be 11 houses affected by this outage. Due to the area of they break, detours maybe set up to ensure the safety of our people and the public.

September sunrise at Public Works.

Reminder (and big thank you, especially to Sanitation and Street Departments) that our Public Works team will be hosting our biannual cleanup week September 14-18. MinotND.gov/CleanUp

Customer appreciation continues at the landfill where City of Minot customers may dispose of accumulated trash free of charge the week of September 14-18. Just bring a water bill.

🚦 TRAFFIC ALERT🚦

Traffic signals at 13th Street SE and Highway 2-52 will flash red tomorrow, September 1, beginning at 1 p.m. The change is expected to last about four hours while crews complete signal upgrades.

During the work, treat the intersection as an all-way stop. North Dakota Highway Patrol vehicles will also be in the area to warn motorists.

The upgrades will replace the existing left-turn signals with a flashing yellow arrow. Once the signals return to normal operation, left turns will use a green arrow followed by a flashing yellow arrow.

Please use caution and expect delays.
