🚰 Utility Billing Update
The City of Missouri Valley wants to provide an update regarding recent utility bills.
Following the April transition to our new cloud-based utility billing system, we experienced significant software migration issues that affected meter readings and the system's billing estimation feature. As a result, some customers were billed incorrectly.
Over the past several days, City staff have been reviewing accounts individually and applying credits where customers were overbilled. If a credit was applied to your account, it will appear on your current utility bill.
Please remember that this bill covers water usage from approximately May 18 through July 28, so it reflects more than two months of water usage.
No late penalties are being assessed at this time while we continue working through these issues. If you receive an automated email regarding late payment or penalties, please disregard it. Those notices are system generated and do not reflect the City's current policy.
If you have questions about your bill, believe it is incorrect, or need to make payment arrangements, please contact City Hall. We are committed to working with every customer during this process.
We know this situation has been frustrating, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Our staff has spent countless hours reviewing accounts to ensure they are as accurate as possible, and we appreciate the patience and understanding our community has shown.
