Today, the Administrative and Line Officers assemble with the Members of Monroeville Fire Company #6 to remember and honor the military personnel who paid the ultimate sacrifice in defense of this Country. We remember those that lost their lives, and were unable to return home to their parents, spouses and children.

Thus it is not a "Happy Memorial Day", but a day in which we show our respect for the fallen. Our Officers and Members donned their Class "A"s and attended the parade and service in their honor. Others may visit a National Cemetery, as the memorial wreaths are laid. And some will visit with the Gold Star families, who live daily with the sacrifice of those who could not come home.

Today is a Holiday, so many will gather with family and friends, being able to do so by the various freedoms the fallen protected.

The Officers of Monroeville Fire Company #6 hope that everyone enjoys this very special day, while remembering those who provided it for us.

Company 6 was dispatched for a two-vehicle accident with injuries. While units were responding, MECC updated that there was a vehicle up an embankment with possible entrapment. The response was upgraded to ensure additional resources were called in the event they are needed. Medic 69 and Chief 60 arrived confirming the report of a vehicle up an embankment. The vehicle was unstable with occupants inside and until the arrival of Rescue 6, the vehicle was supported. Rescue 6 arrived and began further stabilization. The incident was able to be scaled back to Company 6 units.

Tonight’s vote is about the future of fire protection in Monroeville.

The Fire Chiefs Agreement helps provide funding for apparatus replacement and yearly operational support for the volunteer fire companies that protect this community every day.

Fire apparatus cannot simply be replaced overnight. Apparatus now take years to design, spec, manufacture, and deliver. Costs continue to rise every year, and delaying replacement planning only increases the financial burden.

Without long-term planning and support, apparatus will eventually fail, age out, or become unreliable. When that happens, it will impact emergency response for our residents, businesses, and visitors.

Tonight’s meeting at the Monroeville Municipal Building starts at 7pm. We ask the community to stand alongside your volunteers and support the future of Monroeville.

Thank you!

On Monday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Milestone Centers to the station for a tour! It was a great opportunity to show them around, talk about the fire service, and spend time with our community.

One of the highlights of the visit was receiving this awesome picture made for us!We truly appreciate the thought and creativity that went into it. It will have a special place here at the station.

Thank you again to everyone from Milestone Centers for stopping by. We enjoyed having you and look forward to seeing you again in the future!

Residents of Monroeville,

Our community’s fire protection is at a critical moment. The Fire Chiefs Agreement, an arrangement that has reliably supported emergency services in Monroeville for over 50 years, is now facing opposition from some members of council.

This agreement has a long, proven track record of keeping our community safe. Now, it needs your voice.

We’re asking residents to attend the upcoming council meetings and stand in support of your fire department:

📍 2700 Monroeville Blvd📅 May 5 and May 12🕖 7:00 PM

Your presence matters. Showing up sends a clear message that our community values strong, consistent fire protection and the people who provide it every day.

Let council know that public safety is a priority. Stand with your fire department.

This past Sunday, Deputy Chiefs Max M. and Derek F. completed the Fire and Emergency Services Instructor 1 course with Allegheny County Fire Academy.

On Monday, our crews teamed up with Turtle Creek Fire Department at the Monroeville Public Safety Training Center and trained on ladder placement, victim rescue techniques and simulated roof cutting.

Continued training and education is crucial to staying prepared, making the right decisions, and operating safely on every call.
