RDA provides high school students in Spartanburg Districts Four, Five and Six. R. D.

Anderson Applied Technology Center provides high school students with skills necessary to prepare them for a successful career in an ever-changing work place. The one-year and two-year programs, plus many semester courses, offer students a wide range of career choices. This provides students with a basic foundation to either enter the work force immediately after graduation or to continue their education at a technical college or a four-year college or university. In addition, many of our courses offer college credit and national certification and licensure. Social Media Policy

RD Anderson utilizes social media as a means of enhancing existing communication strategies and celebrating students, staff and school achievements. Mr. Mullis's Welding II students have been hard at work mastering their craft, and the results are impressive! Check out these custom-built rocket stoves they recently designed and fabricated. It is inspiring to see our students applying their technical skills to create functional, high-quality projects. Excellent work to everyone involved!

S.C. Jr. Chef Farm to School competition 2026 update! RDA is incredibly proud to have sent a talented team from our Culinary Arts department to compete. A massive shout-out to Chef Forbes for her tireless dedication, mentorship, and for equipping our students with the skills and confidence to compete at such a high level. To our students: your hard work, creativity, and discipline truly shone through. You represented RDA beautifully—congratulations on a job well done!

We are so proud of Mr. Snyder's Welding 3 students. Each student received TAP credit through our partnership with Spartanburg Community College. TAP credit allows these students to receive credit for Welding 106 and Welding 115, allowing them to start further along in the welding program at SCC. These students also passed their AWS V-groove welding certification test and are certified welders. Congratulations to all of them!

Chef Kendricks’ students wanted to show off their culinary "swag"! The students were not having it until Chef Kendrick joined them for a little fun. A huge thank you to Mr. Massey and his students for their awesome graphics work on these designs. We love seeing our departments collaborate to bring such creative projects to life!

Ms. Yarborough’s Teacher Education students had so much fun exploring Early Education at the 2026 SCAEYC conference! It was an incredible opportunity for our future educators to gain hands-on insights, network with industry professionals, and stay ahead of the latest trends in early childhood development. We are so proud of our students for their dedication to their craft and their commitment to shaping the next generation.

It was a pleasure to host Chef Shaun Bezuidenhout and RDA Alumnus Samuel Garcia at the center today! Our culinary students gained valuable, hands-on experience learning to prepare traditional South African Bobotie. Thank you for sharing your expertise and passion with our future chefs—we look forward to seeing more great things from our partnership with Spartanburg Community College!

Ms. Phillips’ Ag. Mechanics class just finished their concrete project where they made beautiful planters and festive pumpkin planters! We are so impressed by the creativity and hard work put into these pieces. What an awesome job you all did—your craftsmanship is truly outstanding!
