Not everything is work, work, work for our Kitchen volunteers. These guys are enjoying a late lunch. (They did get back to work packing weekend bags after they ate.)

This crew from the Old Stone House, came to the Kitchen to pack bags. Thank you for spending some of your precious time with us. Hope you will come back again. (BTW, the Old Stone House folks are the same lovely people who purchased a new freezer for us this year.).

The Community Kitchen has suffered some losses in our "Kitchen Family". Two of our volunteers, Marlin Dehoff & Paul Henneberger, and two of our luncheon guests, Ruth Croaston and Eric (HIllbilly) Lyons have passed away. We extend our condolences to their respective families.

The Hixie Chicks have been busy. The main chick wrangler, Chrissy Zeltner, is a generous supporter of the Community Kitchen. Her most recent donation of eggs is very much appreciated. Today was the kind of day that makes John McFerrin, our Treasurer, sing with joy. Dena Clutter, Steven Clevenger, and Patricia Watson all from Truist Bank stopped by and presented checks from the Truist WV Foundation and the Weldon Family Foundation Trust. The two checks totaled $10,000. Both the Weldon Family Foundation and the Truist WV Foundation have been loyal supporters of the Community Kitchen. The Weldon Family Foundation Trust award supports our weekend meal bag program. The Truist WV Foundation funds support our High Fives program which enables us to provide additional high-protein food items to supplement our patrons' diets. Thank you for your generous support!

Ben, a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Episcopal Campus Ministry, volunteers in the Kitchen on Fridays helping with a variety of tasks, including preparing and serving meals to our guests. We are fortunate to have WVU students like Ben who are willing to spend their time volunteering at the Kitchen.

These 4 young men, Jack, Brandon, Allen and Aaron are associated with St. Thomas Aquinas Episcopal Campus Ministry. For the past school year they have helped out at the Kitchen by sweeping and mopping the dining hall, packing weekend meal supplement bags and doing other miscellaneous jobs whenever asked. We LOVE our volunteers!!!
