🚌 Safety First! 💛

A big THANK YOU to our NAPLS Transportation Department and bus drivers for spending time with our Primary School students today to provide important bus safety training!

From getting on and off the bus safely to learning how to be a responsible rider, these lessons help keep our youngest Eagles safe every day.

We appreciate our bus drivers and transportation team for all they do to safely get our students where they need to go! 🚌🦅

🚒 Partnering for a Safer Community

This week, New Albany-Plain Local Schools is proud to partner with the Plain Township Fire Department by providing the NAPLS Annex for a variety of training and safety drills.

We’re happy to support our local first responders as they train, prepare and strengthen their readiness to serve our community. Opportunities like this reflect the strong partnerships that help keep New Albany a safe, connected and prepared community. All activities will take place outside the building and will not impact technology classes, the Healthy New Albany Food Pantry or other district operations and departments.

🏗️ Building the Future at NAHS! 🦅

Today we celebrated an exciting milestone with the Beam Signing Ceremony for our new Technology Hub at New Albany High School!

The iconic former “H” building and high school library is being transformed into a state-of-the-art space where students will explore cybersecurity, robotics, computer science, media arts and more.

Today’s signatures represent our excitement for what’s ahead — new opportunities, innovative learning and a bright future for our Eagles!

Thank you to our incredible partners at Schorr Architects and Ruscilli Construction for helping bring this vision to life.

The future is taking shape! 🦅✨

School Bus Safety Reminder

As we begin the new school year, we want to remind our families and community about an important safety rule:

When a school bus is stopped with its red lights flashing and the stop arm extended, you MUST STOP. Do not pass the bus.

Please remember:
• Stop when the red lights are flashing and the stop arm is extended.
• Never attempt to drive around a stopped school bus.
• Watch carefully for students who may be crossing the roadway.
• Remain stopped until the bus has turned off its red lights and retracted the stop arm.

School buses make frequent stops to pick up and drop off our most precious passengers—our students. A few extra seconds of patience can make all the difference.

Please slow down, stay alert, and STOP for the school bus. Let’s work together to keep our students safe!

🎤 Three days in…and Superintendent Dr. Jason Fine is already facing the tough questions! 😂

On Friday, Mrs. Dugal and Mr. Gledhill invited Dr. Fine to meet with more than 50 fourth graders—and let’s just say, they came prepared!

The questions were off the charts:
⭐ What’s your favorite color?
⭐ What’s your favorite job?
😳 What’s it like to suspend a student? (There was A LOT of interest in that one!)

Dr. Fine handled the fourth-grade interrogation like a pro—and even had a little magic up his sleeve. 🪄✨ No one saw that coming!

A great way to wrap up the first three days of school—connecting with our Eagles, sharing some laughs and answering the questions that really matter!

[NAPLS] Due to an abundance of caution and the extreme rain combined with the possibility of flooding in areas of the district, New Albany - Plain Local Schools will be on a two hour delay this morning. There is no morning Eagles Nest & Kindergarten Assessments will be impacted. Communication on that will go directly to ELC families later this morning.
